The Secret of the Serpent Sanctum

What can I say, the other reviews warned me. This is an EXTREMELY dense room with a lot of busywork puzzles. We never stalled for very long, and actually rolled through a lot quite quickly yet we still needed extra time. We only had 2 people and we did most of the puzzles together. So, you’ll probably be more successful if you go with 4 people OR you’re more willing to split up. I wouldn’t say any of the puzzles are particularly tricky. There are just so, so many. And a few of them require a lot of time, even after you have figured them out. There was one particular puzzle that felt like it could have been half the length, just as satisfying, and less annoying. That said, I still enjoyed this room. You definitely get your bang for your buck and, given how cool the staff was about extra time, it doesn’t really matter that there were borderline too many. The set was solid. The puzzles, while not super unique, were still clever and fun. Overall, I recommend. B+!! Another note - I did Madame Zita’s Curiosities here years ago when it was still 45 minutes. It was also super dense but with the added frustration of getting less than an hour of play time. I am very happy they extended all their rooms after the addition of Serpent Sanctum. Because of this adjustment, I will continue to support this company in the future.

Find & Seek continues to dominate the Vancouver market. Very puzzle-intensive, great to divide and conquer. All their games have satisfying, chunky props, this game included. They are just awesome! The set has improved from their other two games. I can't wait to see what else they will create!

There were a lot of puzzles, but the difficulty was more in doing the puzzles rather than figuring out how to do the puzzle. We got through most of the room with two people in the one hour, but it’s probably best to do this with 2 pairs because of the number of puzzles.

This was the hardest escape room we've ever done. It was really humbling. We're from Los Angeles, and this would've been AT LEAST a 75+ minute room there if not longer. Also, we were given two notepads, which was also new to us. But a few puzzles would require ridiculous memorization ability if you didn't want to use the notepads. Ultimately, we "escaped" but that's only because they gave us extra time to play until we finished. The set design was just okay at first, but the last room was pretty cool. This escape room was so misleading because we were breezing through puzzles at first. Then we started to slow down. By the time we got to the last room, we only had 15 minutes left. We should've used hints sooner but pride prevented us (and we didn't know how much left we still had to do). The puzzles started off simple, but then they became multi-layered, and we were not used to that at all. But I will admit I really did like these challenging puzzles. It's a shame doing an escape room is basically a one-time thing because I would love to re-do this room. I wouldn't say that all the puzzles were the hardest puzzles ever, but I think the sheer amount of puzzles makes it really hard to escape in the given 60 minutes. They did mention the escape rates are not high at their business. My advice for this room, especially if you have 4 people or less, is to split up and manage multiple puzzles at once whenever possible, and manage time well, even if that means using hints. Definitely a strong recommend for experienced players. And a strong "don't recommend" for beginner players because you really need to be used to escape room puzzles and thinking in that mindset to get through this one. Small note: For all their rooms here, they give an audio cue when you solve a puzzle, which is really helpful! There's also a different audio cue when a hint is given on their TV screen in the room.

A really strong room with tactile puzzles and cool objects integrated into it. We did this with five but I think would have struggled with three or under bc of the sheer number of puzzles.

This overall was one of the greatest rooms we have done in Vancouver . I highly recommend this location and this room !! So much fun ! We escaped with a single second remaining ..

I rate this escape experience a 4/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). The rooms in this establishment are solidly fun experiences. This was my least favorite of the 3 but I still gave it a 4. I gave the set and theme 1 point. You definitely feel immersed in an Indiana Jones type adventure. The puzzles get 2 points. The room was pretty linear and had a variety of puzzles that included many hands-on logic puzzles and more technical ones. There was a dreaded time-sucker puzzle (you know the type - you figure it out pretty quickly but it takes too long to complete). The room really should be 75 minutes based on the amount of puzzles. It took us almost 70 minutes to complete with 3 people (they were nice enough to allow us to finish past the given timt of 60 min). I rated my enjoyment a 1 for a total score of 4. The staff was great . I wish they would have digital pics. The polaroid idea is fun but we should have the option of digital as well.

Our group of three had a blast with this room! The theming was really well done and it felt like there was always something for each of us to separately do! We barely escaped and only got really stuck on one puzzle so I’d say be prepared for a challenge!

I was lucky to do this room on its opening day. I did the room with just one other person and there were A LOT of puzzles to complete, which we loved. The staff gave us quite a bit of very needed extra time (since it was opening day). If we had paced ourselves better or come with a bigger group, we may have been able to complete it in an hour but it would’ve been challenging still. The set design was awesome and everything worked seamlessly. The staff was amazing - super helpful and excited to show us the room. The other 2 rooms at Find & Seek have been my top 2 in all of Great Vancouver and the Secret of the Serpent Sanctum is right up there as well, making Find & Seek’s rooms now my top 3 rooms in Vancouver. If you love the company’s other rooms - you’ll love this one too! Just be ready for tons of puzzles (which is good thing!).
