9 escape rooms

One of our favorite rooms. Wide variety of challenges, parallel tracks, good for a large party. Our biggest challenge yet. Highly recommended!

Gameplay

Flowed well along 2 separate paths that intertwined well.

Atmosphere

Well done, very effective

Customer service

Good, a bit rushed, minimal interaction

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Interesting, but not overly novel puzzle design. Good variety of puzzle types which were quite challenging.

Story

Consistent with the theme, but minimal narration which was hard to hear.

Difficulty

Expert

The puzzles were not unfair or devious, but the sheer number and variety of puzzles.

Game tech

High tech

Mostly sensors, only 3 locks, well executed for the most part.

Ideal number of players

4

4-6

Scary

Not scary

There is some snake imagery

Minimum age

10

10-12. Some of the physical puzzles a younger may be best at are high enough off the ground that they may be difficult to do before a growth spurt

Was anything broken?

No

Live actors

No

Physically active

Somewhat

Moving around a lot, physical puzzles assembly, no major lifting

Accessibility

Cannot follow the plot if you have hearing issues, but that is not required. Need to be able to navigate some narrow spaces, and some items need to be reached at a height of about 6 feet. Some puzzles rely solely on color identification. Vision is required for the puzzles, though the room is well lit.

Easy to find location

No

In a mall with some challenging signage. Goggle maps says to go up to the first floor; it is on the second floor on the same level as the food court (which is also where the nearest washroom is). Go up the elevator, to the end of the hall and turn right. It is on the left.

Overall a great game. The puzzles were fun and made you think. Some even have levels to the puzzle. Set design was fantastic although some non game components where level visible like a thermostat but since it's in a mall, I doubt you could change that. Definitely one I would recommend to others. It wasn't a perfect game. A couple set up issues but those I am willing to forgive due to the amazing turn round between the previous team leaving and us entering into the game. There were definitely some fun puzzles I was not expecting and didn't know how to solve at first but there were always enough clues to figure things out.

Gameplay

Very fun. Some puzzles I have seen before and others I had never seen.

Atmosphere

The set design was great. For the most part. There were some exposed mechanical bits, doors, and a thermostat but otherwise the room layout was great and the set design was top notch

Customer service

Great GM. Very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Very fun and interesting.

Story

The game story had some time travel aspects which I didn't expect but I assume is similar to their other games.

Difficulty

Hard

Some puzzles where more tedious then hard. Some had a second less obvious layer to the puzzle but all super fun.

Game tech

High tech

Mostly moving things into the right place. A couple number and key locks.

Ideal number of players

5

4-6 would be a good size. Key is to split up and work on different puzzles

Scary

Not scary

Scariest thing was reaching your hand into a hidden area.

Minimum age

Was anything broken?

Yes

The room was not reset fully when we were going back into the game but the turn around between games was really tight so I can forgive that. One maglock didn't magnetize properly so the GM had to enter the room to fix it before we skipped most of the puzzles in the room.

Live actors

No

Physically active

Somewhat

Pretty standard for the most part. Definitely did some walking between the rooms.

Accessibility

Color takes a role pretty heavily in the game but there are some non color based puzzles.

Easy to find location

Yes

Once we looked at the directory and realized it was on the second floor of the mall, it was.

Parking

Unknown. We walked.

Safety

Yes

There was one spot I was put in a small dark closet but the door never locked and lights came on as soon as the door closed.

Overall it was a good but difficult room. Some of the puzzles didn’t flow as well as similar rooms with the same theme. Especially towards the end. Game guide wasn’t paying super close attention unfortunately, so was giving clues to puzzles already solved. There were some unique puzzles for sure though. Solved 99% of the room, so close…

2 escape rooms

We're experienced at escape rooms, but the flow would have worked better with two groups of two or more. With just two people and the opportunity to do parallel puzzles, we couldn't keep up with the time constraints. Probably would have finished in +10 minutes. Staff was very friendly. Room was excellent decoration.

Really fun room, cool props and puzzles, AMAZING GM, but holy cow lots of time sucking puzzles… there were only 3 of us and we were going pretty slow… we didn’t escape in 60 min but the GM was awesome and said he wanted us to enjoy the whole room so he gave us extra time. It took us another 15 min and we solved it

Gameplay

Lots and lots of physical puzzles, logic problem puzzles so it was hard for our group of 3 but we still got the gratification of getting to the end (thanks to extra time granted by the GM!)

Atmosphere

Lots of work went into the room, atmosphere was creative and loved certain puzzles especially

Theming was so great for this room, you can tell a lot of love went into it! There was a good mix of puzzles, a bit too many physical ones for my taste but well done. Most puzzles mechanical which I love. A lot of room for larger groups too.

Overall great room! For its limited space, they did a good job maintaining the theme with their props and the puzzles were all very logical. There are A LOT of puzzles and game flow is very non-linear so you probably need at least minimum 3-4 people in your group with some experience each. Completed room with 4 players, no hints, 55:00/60:00. By far the best company in the city!

What can I say, the other reviews warned me. This is an EXTREMELY dense room with a lot of busywork puzzles. We never stalled for very long, and actually rolled through a lot quite quickly yet we still needed extra time. We only had 2 people and we did most of the puzzles together. So, you’ll probably be more successful if you go with 4 people OR you’re more willing to split up. I wouldn’t say any of the puzzles are particularly tricky. There are just so, so many. And a few of them require a lot of time, even after you have figured them out. There was one particular puzzle that felt like it could have been half the length, just as satisfying, and less annoying. That said, I still enjoyed this room. You definitely get your bang for your buck and, given how cool the staff was about extra time, it doesn’t really matter that there were borderline too many. The set was solid. The puzzles, while not super unique, were still clever and fun. Overall, I recommend. B+!! Another note - I did Madame Zita’s Curiosities here years ago when it was still 45 minutes. It was also super dense but with the added frustration of getting less than an hour of play time. I am very happy they extended all their rooms after the addition of Serpent Sanctum. Because of this adjustment, I will continue to support this company in the future.

Find & Seek continues to dominate the Vancouver market. Very puzzle-intensive, great to divide and conquer. All their games have satisfying, chunky props, this game included. They are just awesome! The set has improved from their other two games. I can't wait to see what else they will create!

There were a lot of puzzles, but the difficulty was more in doing the puzzles rather than figuring out how to do the puzzle. We got through most of the room with two people in the one hour, but it’s probably best to do this with 2 pairs because of the number of puzzles.
