Magic Universe

Unbelievable set, amazing actor performance and interactions, satisfying puzzles. It's easy to see why people like Magic Universe; it was my favorite of the 37 games we played on our Spain trip and one of my top games ever. Our Valazar(?) had some of the funniest and memorable improv skills I've seen, making her roles much more impactful than the script would suggest. That's not to say the game is perfect. I thought the ending was underwhelming, and would have loved another actor scene or two. Some puzzles didn't feel like the lived up to the grandeur of the set they inhabited. Having now played all of Magnifico, Magic Universe, and Monster Mashers, I think Magic Universe stands out for the best set and actor interactions. I still personally prefer Magnifico because I thought it had a better story, but all are very strong.

Absolutely magical experience from start to finish ✨ The room captures the feeling of a Harry Potter-inspired universe with incredible attention to detail. I found myself stopping in every room just to admire the masterful set design and how much effort went into creating such an immersive world. The puzzles fit perfectly with the theme, making every challenge feel like a natural part of the magical universe. The biggest highlight was the interaction with the actors; spontaneous, professional, and clearly very well rehearsed. Their performance added so much to the atmosphere and made the whole experience feel alive. A fantastic escape room for anyone who loves strong immersion and storytelling.

Next to Magnífico as one of the best games we have ever played. A set that with each new space just keeps you saying WOW!

The expectations were extremely high for this room as it is #2 TERPECA of 2025 plus here on Morty as well as on other review sites people praise this room immensely and say it fully delivers to its hype. For me, it somehow did not unfortunately. Of course this is an amazing room: the setting is incredible and everything including lights and sounds are extremely well designed. The world you enter is just wow! Also the live acting is supreme - 3 actors even. But nevertheless my overall feeling when leaving wasn’t “OMG, this was the greatest Escape Room ever” but more like “time really well spent; I will remember the set and incredible size of this forever, but I probably won’t remember many of the puzzles or tasks nor specific details of the story”. That’s probably because the tasks are a lot of search & find things or follow an instruction/ pay attention to where something is in a spotlight right now “puzzles”. Not really the types of riddles I personally enjoy the most. Also the acting is too long for my personal taste at times. Really great and enthusiastic actors, but I came here to actively touch and solve stuff, not to stand around and be a spectator in a theater. Still, obviously this was a really great experience overall - money well spent, we had a very good time! It’s just not one of my most favorites rooms in Spain, there are other rooms that I personally enjoyed more and whose stories and puzzles I will remember for longer.

Wow, we loved being swept away and wish we could hold onto the magic a little while longer. Magic Universe was so well executed, set so vast, magical, and the actors were superb. This is an absolute must-play and destination-game worth the trip. I think this is the best game in the category of 'story telling' and the actors' performances (especially the main character) was unreal. As people who are not the hugest fans of musicals and theatre, but can appreciate a good show and performance, our session hit a sweet spot perfectly, in performance and duration and relevance/enjoyment/context! It's hard not to compare this game to Magnifico, (and we even chatted about it afterwards with the actors/game masters). I think this game is comparable and for us, even tops Magnifico. From our perspective and personal preference, we normally prefer escape games with great puzzles, and care little for cut-scenes. Magic Universe hit a nice balance of good puzzles wrapped up in bursts of cute immersive theatre, in a massive, beautiful and extremely well-built and high-tech set. What a truly magical time. We were beyond delighted with the adventure we lived in Magic Universe. From the cold start and the immediate jumping into the story, through the series of marvellous sets and fun puzzles, we have never been so immersed in a escape room before. What Madland has achieved is a treasure to all enthusiasts. We were only two players, and this probably made us play in the slower end of the spectrum. We greatly enjoyed the interaction with the 3 actors. We were stunned by the sets and easily got into the playful flow. It was so good that we wished we could jump right back into it and play the whole game again. Oh to play more stories in this magic universe! Congratulations to all involved.

This is the greatest escape room - actually, probably the greatest activity - that I’ve ever completed. The owner is amazing, the props and actors/actresses are incredible, the puzzles were all original and very sophisticated without being too difficult, and the overall experience was top notch. My wife and I have done well over 300 escape rooms all around the world, including in the US, Amsterdam, Rome, London, and Madrid, and Magic Universe is absolutely at the very top of that list. When we were researching activities to do in Madrid and this came up, we knew we had to do it, especially after reading the reviews. It completely lived up to the hype, and then some. If you are in Madrid - or even if you’re not in Madrid but want to do an incredible escape room and have an amazing experience - go to Magic Universe. You will not regret it!

9.8/10 Magic Universe is a lot. The Good: The sheer size of the experience is nothing like you will find anywhere else in Europe or the Americas. Multiple floors, massive set pieces, full scale props, 1 to 1 ratio facades that are simply there for your immersion and nothing else. This room took 5 years of master craftsmanship to build and it shows. The tech and production are wild. Your eyes will be wide open trying to take in the insane amount of lighting and automation used to make this world come alive. Multiple charismatic actors bringing energetic characters to realization, bantering back and forth in their second language as if it were their first Living in this fictional world for three hours and they utilize every single second of it. The Bad: A stereotype within the world of escape rooms is the bigger the scale and production, the worse the puzzles and flow. Magic Universe is not the exception. The puzzles within this experience lack in satisfaction and originality. There are some moments that really WOW you, but most of the time puzzles are less puzzling and more quick time events or placing A on B. This experience is more immersive theater than escape room. Prepare yourself for long cutscenes with stumbling dialogue and a story that really leaves a lot to be desired. Many moments you will ask yourself “why?” Or “what?” Certain characters are kind of a drag to be around. At moments of their appearance your smile fades slightly knowing they are about to deliver even more confusing exposition. Not all parts of the room are created equal. It feels like playing 3 different experiences that were mindlessly jammed together to create this monster. Certain parts of the room had me so wrapped up in the world and smiling ear to ear. Other parts I felt left out of my own gameplay as actors and cutscenes took over. False expectations are created when sections of the set are revealed and you think to yourself, “oh I can’t wait to see how they utilize that in gameplay.” But you will simply walk by underwhelmed for a large percentage of this room is show. Overall: You will not leave Magic Universe disappointed. This is an experience unlike anything else on TERPECA’s 100. In my opinion it should even be rated higher than 2025 #1 Magnifico. It’s just an amazing feat of engineering. A few points in this room you won’t believe what they were able to pull off, but they did and executed it perfectly. Is Magic Universe perfect? No. But it is an experience unlike anything else in the entire world. It’s s the equivalent of candy. Bright, sugary, and sweet but lacks substance.

We traveled all the way from Germany just for this room — and it was absolutely worth it. I’ve played over 200 escape rooms, including many top-ranked experiences, and I can easily say this is the best escape room I have ever played. Honestly, it doesn’t even feel like an escape room to me — it feels like a glimpse into the future, showing what immersive entertainment can become. A glimpse of what is possible, and it is completely insane. Normally, a room has one major standout effect — one big moment everyone talks about afterwards. But Magic Universe keeps delivering effects that would be the highlight in other rooms, and it does it again and again, every few minutes. Huge moments are almost casually placed on the side, while other rooms would build an entire experience around just one of them. Every time you think it can’t possibly get crazier, it somehow does. It’s a two-and-a-half-hour journey where the impossible keeps becoming possible, and when it’s over, you can hardly believe what you just experienced inside. This room truly shows what the future of immersive entertainment can look like. Absolutely insane.
