Pirate Chest - Lobby Game

Basically a tabletop escape room (reminds me of Escape Room in a Box in particular) brought into a full room. It’s really smart in how much it manages to fit into one chest. Now, whether or not it could have actually been a tabletop game is up for debate, considering you’re paying a large fraction of the price of an actual escape room for this. There’s a couple aspects that wouldn’t be doable as a mass-produced tabletop game but the vast majority of the game could easily be done that way. I don’t recommend having more than 2 players as there isn’t room for more than 2 people to stand in front of a puzzle at the same time with how the room’s laid out (also you’re going to be in small “closed” quarters with them the whole time). But with two people you’re going to basically be paying normal escape room prices per person for something similar to what you can buy on Amazon. Overall It’s not a game you need to do, nor do I think it has enough that I would come to this company just for it, but if the idea of this game sounds interesting to you and you’re already here for another game, (and you’re a solo, a duo, or an extremely friendly 3 person group) no harm in fitting this one in as well!

Pirate Chest - Lobby Game ended up being way better than I expected. Since it’s a lobby game, the atmosphere isn’t really anything special, but don’t let that fool you because the puzzles were surprisingly good. It is definitely lock-heavy, but there were a lot of fun brain teaser-style puzzles that kept it interesting. The flow is linear, which made it easy to follow, and the self-guided hint system was a nice touch. Personally, I came into this game not expecting much, but the puzzles really changed my mind. Overall, it’s a great game to play.

Interesting set up. This was their rental game that you could borrow for covid. It's self guided and self run for the most part since it has phon/online cluing system. It was slightly difficult to maneuver so many closed and opened boxes in a smaller space, but surprising well made for a game that fits in 1 chest. Yes it is also just a lobby game.

I rate this escape experience a 3/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). And just a side note, this is literally a lobby game - a game behind a curtain in the hall of the lobby. It is also literally a pirate chest, that's it. So I think a 3/5 for a lobby game is pretty darn good. I give the set/theme a half point because it's in the lobby which can be noisy due to it - being in the lobby, duh. Plus it really is just a pirate's chest so yeah, half a point. I give the puzzles 1.5 pts. Granted, they were all lock type puzzles but what they did with them in the very limited space of the pirates chest was quite novel and creative. No one puzzle was particularly memorable but the experience itself was memorable due to the novelty of it. The puzzles were the perfect amount of difficulty for a light puzzle solving experience as well. I gave my enjoyment level 1 point. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and it was a nice addition after doing an actual escape room at this location.

Tight space but very fun! Kids were able to solve many of the puzzles. Enjoyed it greatly.

This is a fun lobby game… it is a challenge… still a must do while there…
