Cień Nietoperza [Bat's Shadows]

Very fun and atmospheric room with a great variety of puzzles. Enjoyed two tasks especially that I hadn’t seen before (and one that broke my heart a little). Like all rooms we played in Poznan the puzzle density was rather high but (apart from two tasks) it was always clear what to do next. English audio was slightly hard to understand at points as were the hints given but with a super friendly and helpful GM it was well manageable. Overall a recommendation to play when in Poznan, you’ll leave with an extra gimmick and smile on your face.

Bat’s Shadow starts off pretty strong, with a good introduction. The initial environment is interesting and immersive, but later the game transitions into a puzzle room that feels somewhat disconnected from what came before which was particularly disappointing given our high expectations (lockme place 1 in poznan) That being said, the room still offers some interesting puzzles, creative gimmicks and enjoyable ideas. Unfortunately, our experience was heavily affected by the audio. The English recordings had a very strong Polish accent, and combined with distorted voices and loud background noise, they were often very hard to understand. The same problem applied to the hints, which made it difficult to follow the guidance and seriously interrupted the game flow. Towards the end, we missed the start of the final and decisive challenge in a different room as their was a minor side challenge that distracted us which cost us crucial time. As a result we had a bad outcome which was kind of frustrating for us as it probably could have been easily prevented by better audio or more attentive guidance by the game master.

Fantastic room! Really well thought out, lots of different puzzles and the room was very well designed! One of our favourites in Poznan!

This is the newest game at Escape Arena, only opening 2 months ago (our GM said we were his first group in English). It had a lot of themed puzzles of various types, and we found them lots of fun. One puzzle had audio that was difficult to understand, but the GM said they are in the process of updating that puzzle, so it shouldn’t be an issue for long.
