I really enjoyed the original Oculus but v2 felt like the theme had been stretched and lost slightly. The first room was good but as we went on I stopped enjoying it, found it dark, cramped and a little clunky

The remake, not the sequel! We’ve revamped our scariest room to make way for ‘Harold’s House’ Get into the psyche of our notorious serial killer, Oculus. Known for his obsession with eyes and scooping out his subjects’ blinkers, Oculus has escaped from prison and is on the way home… In your search, you must find his last remaining victim, Becky Morris, and come to her rescue before he takes his eyes for his collection, along with yours…

After playing their original game I was really shocked at what they have been able to achieve with this new overhaul. The theming and design of the space is so elevated, deliberate and chosen. All this with some great puzzles to boot!
Every puzzle flowed thematically well into the next with some great surprise moments!
STUNNING set and a huge upgrade from its original form. I’m so surprised as to what they have managed to achieve with such a small space.
Always great hosts at this venue.

A vast improvement on the original Oculus. Some very clever puzzles and game mechanics. Quite scary at times, very spooky vibes the whole way through.

Kaleigh was fantastic, one of our favourite GMs we've had anywhere!

I would assume they can work around the crawling and climbing, but you do have to go downstairs to get to the room.

I've always held Escape Rooms Cardiff in a fantastic light and I still do! We had an amazing experience although some puzzles were a bit temperamental at times. It's early doors for this game so I can forgive the odd bit. The bottom line is the remake is so much more terrifying in the best way and is definitely one to try out if you like a horror room!
The change in the story made it so much more intense. My teammate and I genuinely felt our hearts racing (granted we aren't the bravest) The puzzles were unique and all fit the theme.
Although our host was lovely, there were a few bits that raised an eyebrow or two. The biggest one being hints coming in the form of "Have you seen this/done this?" to things we had made big deals about prior to asking for help. It made us feel as if there wasn't much attention being given towards us.

When approaching our last few seconds we hit a bit of our dead end. Our host hinted that a key had dropped that we were unable to find. We assumed that it was us not quite finding it in time. When the host came in as we didn't quite finish we asked where the key dropped. He also couldn't find it. I don't know whether this was the result of an improper reset or a mechanical piece not triggering properly.

As always with ERC, the quality of set design, puzzles and hosting from the GM were outstanding A fun room which follows on nicely from Oculus 1, so players who already played the original will enjoy the continuity

As always with Escape Rooms Cardiff they’ve knocked it out of the park with this one! I love that this is a continuation of the Oculus storyline, with nods to the original. The puzzles were really well integrated and we had a lot of fun. Skeggs was a great GM, who was friendly and helpful but left us to figure things out for a while before asking if we’d like help if we were on the wrong track.
Fantastic!
Very tense atmosphere created with lighting and sound which really added to the experience.
Skeggs was a great GM! All the staff were really friendly!

I love that this was a sequel to oculus and that there were nods to the original room, but it didn’t require having down the first room.
The story was phenomenal! Puzzles were really well integrated to the story!

We lost a key component for one puzzle and there was no way to retrieve. GM handled this well and told us the answer for the puzzle, rather than come in and resolve and ruin the ending.
