This was a really fun room with some interesting puzzles. We really enjoyed the theming and it wasn’t too scary for our 5 year old. Well done! Our GM was great as usual - top notch customer service always!

An unsolved mystery. A looming storm. And a yeti on the loose. An expedition vanished high in the Himalayas while chasing a legendary jewel. All that remains is an abandoned outpost, half-buried in snow and whispered about in fearful tones by the locals. They say the mountain is dangerous. That something ancient protects the jewel. That the Yeti is real. It’s your turn to brave the cold, follow the trail, and uncover what really happened. But beware — in these mountains, the air is thin, time is short, and not everything that walks on two legs is human. Dare to uncover the Legend of the Yeti!

Don’t be put off by the low number of reviews - this location has only been open for a few weeks (12/12 opening), and has a great assortment of TEG offerings. The Legend of the Yeti is one of the best TEG rooms we’ve done - we usually like their games for the variety of puzzles, immersive production value, and good game flow, and the Yeti did not disappoint. Lots of fun elements in this room - as experienced escapists we rarely see puzzles or environmental details that surprise/delight us, and I almost think this room will ruin future rooms for less experienced groups. My biggest complaint with TEG is their stubborn refusal to make their rooms all private. Most companies have moved to this practice, and while okay for beginners, having to share a room is terrible for experienced teams. We were fortunate to have a private experience for this room, and I would say if there were 4 other people in there with us, it would have ruined it. A) because 2 of the 3 spaces were too tight for more than 4-5 people to move around in and work, and B) it’s a LINEAR game so what purpose would extra people serve except to just get in the way?
Since it was a linear game, flow was good. However, we generally think that a room with a harder difficulty rating should not be linear because you eliminate the ability of a larger group to divide and conquer. I honestly don’t know how a group of 8 would work this room - it would be 2-3 people working on something and 5 people standing around watching them do it.
As with all TEG rooms, the production value was fantastic. Immersive with some fun details that made the theme come to life.
Sam was a great guide, respected our request for no hints and helped us out with a sticky door.
Yes
Fun theme and story. Some unique elements and puzzles.
Hard
Not all of the puzzles were obviously solved right away but not particularly difficult and the number of puzzles was just right - we needed 50 min to escape, which made us feel like we got full value, lol.
High tech
Nice special effects and magnetic locking elements, but still lots of traditional lock/key boxes.

2-3 experienced players could do it - don’t know if a larger group would actually help get done faster bc it’s a pretty linear game.

We had a sticky door where we questioned if we were using the key correctly, but was quickly rectified with some help from Sam.

I was worried when I first stepped into the room. The room itself was the same set for Gold Rush but covered in snow. Luckily, once the game started, the game play and puzzles were unique and I absolutely loved it. The set was gorgeous and had some nice wintery touches. There is an amazing bit which occurs at about at the midpoint of the game which really made me appreciate the work they put into the room. The puzzles were a nice mix of types and styles and a handful that made me step back to admire it for a moment. The finale puzzle has a unique interaction with the GM that I loved. All in all, this is a great room that I recommend you try if it's in your travels.

After years of smaller companies reskinning their games, Yeti was TEG’s first full overhaul. Entirely new puzzles, fresh paint, and a great experience. Would definitely recommend
