We are W.I.S.E.: an independent, international intelligence organization, operating at the highest level of secrecy to protect the world from danger. Our sources report that the secret research company, Spider Technologies, has developed a virus for mind control and has already infected 20% of the world population. Whether it be shopping behaviour, political attitudes, or even assassinations – people can be influenced against their will. Needless to say, this is an incredible power. To stop Spider Tech, we created Operation Mindfall and chose you as our agents. Your task: Obtain the antidote to stop Spider Tech! You only have a limited amount of time – can you do it?

I rate this escape experience a 1.5/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). I give a 0.5 for set/theme. We were asked to walk around San Luis Obispo, stopping occasionally to solve puzzles, but the locations we stopped at had nothing at all to do with the puzzles. The theme of the game was some mind control that we had to stop but really, it didn't seem to have a big connection with the puzzles we had to solve. I would have enjoyed it much more if the locations that we had to visit related to something about the story or the puzzles. I give 0.5 pt to the puzzles. There were some okay puzzles but the disappointing part was that most of the puzzles involved touching the tablet screen and unlocking things on the tablet. I prefer puzzles that aren't fully screen-based. There were a couple of physical puzzles, but mostly we were interacting with the tablet. I give 0.5 pt for my enjoyment level. I didn't hate the experience and it was enjoyable to walk around beautiful downtown SLO with my escape partner. However, I didn't like carrying around a large suitcase, a Bluetooth speaker (not entirely sure why this was necessary!), and a tablet while visiting random locations that had no connection to the puzzles. Outdoor escape experiences just aren't my favorite.
