For an investigation, you and your team will take part in ten tests at THE DOME Research Facilities. At the same time, the life-threatening criminal cyborg Hector undergoes the first ever CMNT (controlled molecular neuro transmission) treatment on a cyborg. Hector oddly appears not to be sensitive to the treatment and thus manages to hack THE DOME's system with his internal computer during one of the tests. At the same time, his henchmen on the other side of the world, Thommas Wigg, manage to take out THE DOME's head of security. Because of this, there is nothing that can stop Hector's outbreak. With the result; the escape of an extremely high dose of sodium cyclate into the examination room. You and your team will become intoxicated by this substance and from that moment on will end up in a severe hallucination. After Hector's escape, will you and your team manage to let go of all logic and go along with the flow of your hallucination? Or do you get entangled in the illusion that you still have some idea of what reality is under the influence of Sodium Cyclate ...

Felt like I was in an anime! Play if you want to live out your action adventure dreams. Clever use of space, creative theming and fun vibe changes from room to room. Tricky, but not as hard as I was expecting. We played with 2 but it would be better with 3 or 4. Some elements were physically difficult with only 2 - playing with a very tall man was helpful. Also, your game master shows you a highlight reel after the fact, which was a nice touch.

Wow, what did I just play?! The Dome was a unique, frenetic dash through a variety of environments. We were warned ahead of time that even though we were an experienced group, we should still play really hard. This was 100% accurate, and I'm glad we did - we barely had time left. The set was fantastic, one of the best I've ever seen. Puzzles fit in really well and were quite memorable. Story... OK, I guess? It's unique but not meaningful, and I felt like some things weren't explained well in game (or after) at all. It's fine, I'm not here for the story, I'm here for the gameplay, and The Dome delivered.

Not necessarily difficult (though it's definitely not a cakewalk), but more that the pacing felt like we needed to constantly be rushing.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think some elements in the very last room were not working as intended. It didn't prevent us from making progress or finishing.

let me reach for a strange analogy... playing The Dome felt like reading Wuthering Height. Not because its Gothic or windswept or brooding. But because I understood almost immediately why its famous. I could see its precision, originality of voice. I appreciated it, but I didn't love it. I frequently found myself thinking “that's clever,” or “what a great way to do a split-room puzzle.” And “that one puzzle,” the one people were talking about last week on Discord? It's elegant and beautifully designed. But admiration isn't the same as affection. The premise itself is delightfully weird, and I really did love the way the game reorients itself after the first part. But I wanted more. I wanted it to lean harder into its strangeness, to push further and get weirder. When I wanted reality torn open at the perforation, I felt like it wanted to microdose. This was a divisive experience for our team. Half loved it outright. The other half left appreciative.

S tier! Must play for all escape room enthusiasts. We played as a duo and it was difficult with two, but doable. Just had 30 seconds left at the end.

What an absolutely buck wild experience. This really lived up to its top ten in the world rating. From the jump you could tell that they’d thought of everything. Mind blowing.

A very unique game, and a marvel of technology and engineering. And yet, maybe due to the overhype or the fact we only played it as a team of 2, the game did not click for us past the first (and very strong) 15-20 minutes. Acknowledging the narrative framing device, the story outside of it (its premise) does not make sense, doesn't really get rounded up. Being colorblind, two puzzles tasked me with guiding my partner while not able to see properly and calling out something "black" when it was dark green, and missing out on a guiding symbol entirely at a later point... We never recovered from those moments of frustration during the game, not helped by a late-game magnet not recognising that our task was complete, and stuck in a loop telling us to do exactly what we just had (a very, very, very simple "put this one thing exactly here"). This probably won't happen to anybody else though, and it was one magnetic sensor in an otherwise mindblowing display of tech!

Tech & engineering. Enough said - go see by yourself.

Story

The narrative device is great but could lead to much more (avoiding spoilers here), but the premise of the story makes no sense at all (not a spoiler - but why is the other guy there at all??), and the ending doesn't really round anything up.

IN-SANE. Seriously. Respect.

3-4 at least. Officially playable with 2, but we did NOT enjoy the experience based on what we had to get done and running back and forth.

Nothing too crazy, but it can get intense.

Was anything broken?

Yes

One magnet in the end (see review above). Quite insignificant given the INSANE amount of tech in the room, but it led to three minutes of frustration.

It's almost completely unnecessary to add a voice to the chorus at this point - but The Dome is terrific! The story is a bit vague, but I didn't think it mattered. It's just a bunch of fun, full of creative brilliance, a physical adventure.
