Great Gold Bird is a narrative-focused “wanderplay” inspired by immersive theatre, alternate reality games, and escape rooms. Henry Combs is missing, and he wants to be found. He's left a trail of clues in his personal ephemera for you to follow. As you sort through the contents of his life, you discover a personal history of love and grief that takes you to multiple locations across Houston and planes of existence.

I had very little idea of what to expect going in, but I didn’t expect to be met with such complex and detailed characters. I found myself gasping over new information because it was so easy to be invested in their storylines. So glad I got to do this, not only for the big hard griefs we experience but for the little ones we go through each day. So glad Strange Bird brought it to Houston!
