A mislabeled crate. A missing portal. And a mission that can’t wait. Nemesis has been disrupting the Keepers of Balance, and it all traces back to the 1970s—when a former CIA agent built his first weapon in a bunker beneath his home. Your task: go back, find the prototype robot, and ensure it never sees the light of day. But what starts in a teenager’s bedroom quickly descends into something much darker. A hidden lab. A countdown. A legacy that refuses to die. The robot can be destroyed. But the future? That’s another story.

System hit on the story with our Keeper setting things up and being part of it. The puzzles were varied and moved us along, some surprises along the way. And as usual the set designs were great.

Gameplay

Another winner for Keepers! Great story, unique puzzles and enough to do for everyone without feeling overcrowded or rushed

Another fantastic room! KOB is a true destination worthy escape room company. Each room is unique and System Overlord is no exception. The build is absolutely top notch and the rooms are full of great puzzles. Top it all off with a show stopping ending and you have a a must do room. Which KOB room is the best? Do them all and you’ll have to decide for yourself!

I admire how Keepers managed to make each of their current 3 games stand out from each other. Temple of Light's large, task focused challenges felt distinct from Defenders of the Sunken Realm's more challenging, more puzzle-esque interactions even when both had a similar level of build quality and wow factor. System Overlord fell somewhere in the middle and truly had the best of both worlds in many ways, making it both a remarkably satisfying puzzle game and a true adventure in its own right. The opening set may have appeared to be a fresh if normal 70's bedroom, the world we discovered beyond was detailed, stylish, and brimming with some of my favorite puzzles in the building. I loved the way the game played with retrofuturism in its various portions. I've played plenty of games set in a nostalgic interpretation of the past, but never one that blended so seamlessly with a build of this quality. While this was a beautiful game, it was also had awesome puzzles. Everything flowed well and made use of some really interesting inputs that felt like they were pulled from a classic sci-fi movie. I imagine the ending will be the highlight for many players, and it's not hard to see why. This was one of my absolute favorite conclusions to any room I've ever played. System Overlord is a perfect blend of a traditional escape room and a pure adventure. Whether you love puzzling out how to work strange devices or want to live a sci-fi action story, I can't recommend this one enough. It's as much a must play as the other two.

Gameplay

Super well-designed, clever, and perfectly integrated into the set and world.

Atmosphere

From the unusually well-maintained opening set to the thrilling places you end up, this is such an amazing place to puzzle through.

Customer service

The owner gave us an incredible intro, and everyone we encountered here was so kind!

Story

I loved how the premise called back to classic rock urban legends and integrated them into an equally creative storyline.

This was such a cool room - afterwards they told us we were the second group to play it and honestly there were no kinks. This was super immersive, we love that it linked to the Keepers world. I loved that the puzzles were novel and unlike things we had done before. The rooms are so well done and extremely diverse. Highly recommend!!
