You've earned a second chance at freedom, but it's slim. About 3 months ago, Edward hired a man named John Peterson to help him make some "engineering changes" to an elevator shaft on his property. John quickly figured out that these changes he was being asked to make were indeed sinister in nature. When he confronted Edward, he was told that he could not leave until the project was finished or else his wife and daughter would pay the price. The project is complete and John is long dead. You've found yourself locked inside the elevator shaft. Will you and your friends be able to follow the steps John put in place for you? Or will you perish under the weight of a 6 ton steel elevator? This is the most technically advanced room The Basement has to offer. The Elevator Shaft delivers a level of realism and intensity that is unmatched in the world of Escape Rooms today.

I rate this room a 2/5 (ck out my bio for my rating system). I was anticipating a great room with the unexpected entrance to the facility and the decor and introduction video. I was a little worried when the host told us there'd be no hints but I figured it would be doable if they weren't offering hints. Even after initially seeing the impressive set, I was excited about doing it. Unfortunately, it was downhill from there. This was the type of room where if you complete a puzzle, there's not clear indication that you completed it. So the result of a completed puzzle, i.e. key, might be floating around (literally!) somewhere but you have no idea to look for it because you're not sure you completed the puzzle in the first place, so then you waste time trying it again. I hate rooms like this! Then, even though they said there'd be no hints, some lady starts shouting at us from behind a wall telling us to look for this unexpected key and we can't even really hear what she's saying because it's noisy in the room. This did not match the production value of the room and really left a bad impression. If you're going to say there's no hints, commit to that instead of doing it the ghetto way and shouting thru a wall! The few puzzles there were, weren't anything special but I was so frustrated about not knowing if we completed a puzzle, the only thing that the room got points for (2 pts) was the set and theme. Luckily, we did The Courtyard after which was better but still... The hint system... Ridiculous. Apparently there's a storyline between all the rooms but, due to all of the above, I'm left uninterested in discovering it. Side note: I'm slightly claustrophobic but was ok with the amount of space. Technically, you don't really have to do the more claustrophobic part if you have someone in your party who's more comfortable with that. In addition, you don't really get wet, maybe only a drop or two.
Spooky

My least favorite of all the rooms at this location. 4-5ppl max. Not a lot to do in this room. Can be done by 2ppl. Production value was decent.

First off: favorite room door entrance ever! That was a fun little surprise. This also gets points for how immersive it was, by which I mean it felt like a real elevator shaft and not a set design. This is a shorter room (45min) because there's not a lot of puzzles but you gotta manage your time well. (We finished with 1:18 left on the clock.) I think 2 or up to 3 is a good number as long as one person isn't claustrophobic and on the, er, thinner side. Also, don't be an idiot like me and get unnecessarily wet. Or bring a change of shoes/socks just in case you do.

Absolutely excellent technical elements. Great use of water and you have some pretty great communication puzzles. 3 people seems like the perfect number

This was a fun room but do not attempt if you are claustrophobic! The atmosphere of the room was great and the puzzles were fun. There were three of us which honestly was probably too many. Two can def play at this game easily and have a great time. I’d recommend as part of the whole series but not necessarily just by itself!

Finished just in the nick of time! This room was a lot of fun with lots of interesting puzzles and tasks to complete. Not for someone who is claustrophobic or for big groups. I went in a group of 4 and it was perfect. Loved the production value of this room.
Highest production value of the 4 rooms on this property. Very cool effects.

The Elevator Shaft set up was ingenious. The builders definitely worked with what they had and made it incredible. You truly felt like you were stuck in an elevator shaft. This room is best for smaller groups.
