You are wandering around visiting a prairie dog colony in the northern reaches of the Black Hills around the wide open spaces of Alzada, Montana when your friend yells "ouch, this here dang prairie dog bit me!"Β Your friend looks immediately ill! What to do? Perhaps the ranchers in that house nearbyΒ can help, you go to the house and door is slightly ajar. You have to go in and see if you can get help for your friend....... but this doesn't look like any ordinary ranch house......

It was a clever twist on a common escape room theme. The room had a lot of red herrings so it could be easy to waste time. Did some fun things with the props to solve puzzles that fit with the theme. The GMs come into the room to give you clues which dampens the immersive experience a little bit. Nothing extraordinary but still a good time.
The zombie theme twist with the prairie dogs was cute for the area.
Some parts were very dark. Basic level of immersion, enough to be fun. Puzzles matched the theme.

My experience started good, but went downhill fast. We were traveling through SD with our dogs and staff let us bring them in the room since it was too hot to leave them in the car. That was very accommodating and impressive. Once in the room, the immersion / theme was good. For context, I've done 30 rooms and work as a gamemaster in another city, so I have a lot of grace for mistakes. My group of 4 were all experienced, so we were not just lost players. Negatives: there was no clue system (or it was not working). We had to leave the room and go to the front desk to ask for a clue. They came into the room to ask what we needed help with instead of knowing what we needed help with. Then the puzzles were not flowing, so we had to asked for multiple clues almost each step. Each time the gamemaster told us what to do or even opened the lock for us instead of giving a clue to get us on track. We had to ask what she was doing to open the lock to experience the game. This was aggrevating. There were a lot of locks in the room and many that were not used / total red herrings. One puzzle had the wrong lock, which caused us to skip steps, and they didn't tell us, so that caused confusion. After 1 hr we got so frustrated with not knowing what to do it just wasn't fun, so we just asked for her to walk us through the end. She was rude and condescending. This is the 2nd room I've done here with similar problems.

Many of the clues didn't flow to the next. You wouldn't know when or where to use a code. There were a lot of numbers and locks and some of them don't even open with no warning. Fun storyline, but my group was completely lost the whole time. *there are also fake but realistic heads in the room. Be cautious if you are sensitive to blood.
The room was great at setting the scene with lab equipment and lighting. Some of the props were broken though.
When we came in the building, the staff were very welcoming, but if we asked for a clue they asked where we were and told us what to do next instead of giving a clue. At the end, they seemed to get upset when I asked for clarification.

There were multiple rooms and you might have to step over something to get around. Some of the rooms are small with a lot of props too.
One of the rooms was very dark and the light was dim and broken. Some of the clues had to do with colors

Zombie Prairie Dogs was a good room. The theme was fun and funny. We had a large group, and there were plenty of tasks for the less experienced players. There were also difficult tasks for the more experienced players. We made it out with only a few seconds left on the clock, but I do have to point out that we spent 5 or more minutes confused and wasting our time because there was a puzzle that was set up incorrectly and eventually the game master had to come in and fix it so that we could complete the puzzle. There were a few red herrings (totally pointless puzzles) in this room that really frustrated me.
