Fortune be told, but can you find the gold? This escape room brought you back to the 1800s, and let’s just say that it was quite the trek to find our reward, but well worth it! This room had a lot of a-ha moments and a sense of immersion, however; Gold Rush could work on its implementation of puzzles within its storyline. Some of the puzzles did feel like random tasks that didn’t blend well with what was needed to be done, but it makes up for it in the immersion and transitions. There wasn’t anything too special in Gold Rush that stood out, but the set design, props, and sounds were immersive. I played with 2 other players and luckily no one else booked with us (because the Escape Game is public booking). This room could easily be completed with 2 players, depending on your skill level, and I would say the maximum would be 4 due to the physical space.
Most of the puzzles flowed well with one another, however; due to wear-and-tear, some puzzles were challenging to spot and became tedious and time consuming with what was needed to be done. The puzzles themselves could be implemented better, but it follows a linear pattern and is a great escape room for beginners.
I really liked Gold Rush for the fact that it was very immersive. The set design was incredible and the special effects and props were on point with the theming of this room.

Pros: Fun and lighthearted, good for families (including kids), linear puzzle-solving with a logical flow, good mix of easier and more challenging puzzles; Cons: Not easy to find (give yourself extra time), overly worn game pieces and props
Very immersive with lighting and sound

Nothing was broken, but this room has had LOTS of play, so props and gameplay pieces are very worn.

Medium
This is in the Irvine Spectrum, so if it’s a busy shopping day, expect more limited parking and a longer walk.

We felt it was a pretty average room. Not bad, but not particularly memorable for us.

This was the first escape room that my girlfriend and I made it out of together! The gameplay and immersion was fantastic and we had an awesome time completing this room. The beginning, middle, and end of this room is all great. I can’t wait to go back!
Linear gameplay that requires the player to check everything in each room.
Great atmosphere.
The GM running our game was great, I don’t remember their name but they were the night manager. I appreciate how enthusiastic they were.
High tech
Great combination of high tech and mechanical puzzles

Had a fun time with this room! I loved the puzzle especially the interactive aspect to them. Highly recommend for a solid not too hard escape room.

This was my first escape room ever, and I think it’s a great start for beginners. It’s very linear, so I wouldn’t go in with any more than four people. Cozy atmosphere, and by far the most relaxed room at this location.
