The people of Whitechapel have learned one thing: never walk alone after dark. Mothers, daughters, and sisters have disappeared without a trace. Whispers spread through the streets about screams heard beyond the church walls… and the horrifying things left behind. Now, you’ve been called to investigate. Step inside the forgotten church and uncover a deviant ritual built around sin, confession, and punishment. Search for the truth hidden within its walls—but be warned… some sins cannot be forgiven. As you descend deeper into the darkness, the church begins to reveal its secrets. Flickering lights, unsettling sounds, haunting voices, and unexpected surprises will keep you questioning what—or who—is lurking nearby.

Absolutely fantastic room. Definitely one of the best in Reno. It was quite scary and the perfect amount of challenging for experienced players. My heart is still racing!

A Jack the Ripper themed room where lighting, sound, and set combine to create an immersive, spooky atmosphere (electric candles are also provided midway through to help with low lighting). The room is spooky, though not overtly scary. There is a jump scare of two, but even the horror averse can play this without worry. Based on reviews, the game is listed as difficult. That isn’t due to the puzzles themselves. Most of the times these are layered and well clued. Often it’s because of needing to work through an abundance of clues in early rooms that aren’t used until later. This, along with longer reading materials, took time for our group to sort through. None of this should distract from the fact that White Chapel continues Key & Code’s impressive improvement over the last year. During that time they have consistently leveled up their sets, sound, story, and lighting, and this room is no exception. Side Note: I also appreciated the absence of Key & Code’s usual “45 minutes left” and “30 minutes left” announcements. Having been transported to Victorian London, I enjoyed staying there.

I believe that this is currently the best scary room in Reno, and I enjoyed Freakshow, Dead Silence, Blood of the Original, etc., but this one really stands out. The set, including the physical room, soundtrack, lighting and sound cues were all very well integrated into the experience. The chapel’s vaulted ceiling and the door to the chapel were wonderfully done. I usually don’t care about the story, instead I normally focus on the puzzles, then set, but I really enjoyed how the story revealed itself at the end. And, everything made sense within that story’s framework. The puzzles were good, and made sense for the story, and there were a couple of good ‘that’s really cool’ moments. I am not a horror fan; don’t watch scary movies and avoid haunted houses, but I thoroughly enjoyed this room. It had the right amount of spooky atmosphere and gore, and it all worked together. This theme/setting could definitely be polarizing for some, but you can also say that it is unique and not the usual trope of a killer has you trapped so you better figure a way out before he returns, and I appreciate this. The room is on the dark side and there are a couple of small spaces so this may make it difficult for certain people, however, not everyone needs to enter these spaces. Parking is simple and the staff was great. *** note: we played this room as a beta test group so it is subject to some small tweaks before it opens, but I feel that it was 98% or better in its final form.

Yes

The setting/story may be a bit polarizing, but it is definitely unique.

I usually don’t care about the story as much as the puzzles and set, but the story really came through in this one and worked with all other elements.
