Out on the roadside, where the fog never quite lifts, stands the Blackwater Motel. It has been empty for years. One night the guests simply never left. Your car gives out right here, and the red "Vacancy" sign flickers as if it had been waiting for you. Inside, time stands still: sagging beds, an armchair bathed in red neon, an old tube radio that begins to hiss out of nowhere. Along the corridor stand locked doors: 216, 217. Out of the darkness drift voices that seem to call you by name. Something has kept the guests of the Blackwater here to this day, and now you have checked in.
