When we walk up to the establishment, the GM immediately asks us if we’re prepared to play the scary room, really hyping up the fear factor. I asked if there was a live actor and he gave me a non answer until another GM later confirmed there would not be an actor in the room. This was a stressful start to the game for me.
The game was not as scary as the game master had made it out to be and once I was able to calm down after having been riled up, I was able to enjoy the game. It had good flow and pretty unique puzzles with some cool jump scare elements. The scenic design was really well done but the set wasn’t utilized a lot. I felt like there weren’t a ton of puzzles and we escaped too quickly for my liking with a group of 2 very experienced players and 2 newer players. It just didn’t really scratch the escape room itch for me.
