The Tree of Life is dying, and only you can save it! Fantasy, whimsy, and a little bit of drama await both first-time players and experienced enthusiasts in Magic Kingdom Escape Room, which is a medium difficulty escape room game in Koreatown, LA that offers a spellbinding adventure to captivate both children and adults. You and your friends have been transported to an otherworldly land known as the Magic Kingdom, where a mysterious curse threatens the ancient Tree of Life! Sitting for eons at the heart of the Enchanted Forest, the Tree of Life is the source of all the magic in the world. While old and powerful, the tree isn’t immortal – its roots are nourished by the elemental water from a magic wishing well near the tree. Alas, an evil magic from an unknown source has descended upon the Magic Kingdom Escape Room, cursing the wishing well and causing the elemental water to run dry! You and your band of magicians are the only ones with the power to end the curse and save the tree before it withers away – but you only have one hour to do it! After 60 minutes, the tree will fade away, and the Magic Kingdom will be lost! Get ready to embrace your inner child, and work together to recover the three elemental wands whose power you’ll need to save the tree. Along the way, you’ll enlist the help of a colorful cast of magical creatures, including fairies, a jackalope, and a talking mouse who will guide you in your quest. Who knows, maybe the friendly giant will even wake up long enough to lend a hand! Located in the heart of Koreatown, Maze Rooms on S. The special fx for this room were pretty cool but overall the room fell a little short for me. We still enjoyed our time. I still don’t think the props we had were wands!!! 😂

Magic Kingdom is a magical forest adventure. Dark and moody, but not scary. There is one element in the room which came as a surprise and is not doable for people with low mobility. Fortunately, only one person in the group has to perform the required action. There are also steep stairs that only need to be done by one person. There were a few locks with unique and fun methods of opening. One mechanic was never really clear to us how it operated, but we muddled through. Everything did work though. GM was helpful when contacted for hints. I’d give this room an easy-medium rating. Great for kids who love magical things. Parking can be challenging during busy times.

What a fun room!! Whimsical, beautiful, makes you feel like a kid. It’s usually the room I suggest for beginners. Puzzles flow nicely, there are really cool surprises in here. Even if you do a lot of rooms, this one is a must.

Not gonna lie, had kinda a rough time with this one for multiple reasons. I can kind of imagine how hard it is to create an escape room and I thought there were some cool parts to this but unfortunately there were too many setbacks and disappointments for me overall. We did escape, but I’m not sure how. Many traps went off incorrectly or at the wrong time, and I wouldn’t even be mad except that some things were broken on top of that, and a lot of the story that didn’t align with what we were being told to do. I respect it is a “non-linear” room but for us there was a lot of chaos going on. The room was a bit “clunky” and I think probably best suited for younger teens who like fantasy. I personally think it’s too confusing for littler kids, but to be fair we were all adults. I also didn’t get the layout of the rooms if we are being honest - the aesthetic vs the story didn’t quite make sense. I can’t get into more without spoilers, and I do want to give kudos for some of the fun aspects of the room that are there (although the talking Jackalope that’s in the trailer doesn’t happen, which was a bummer and one of the main reasons I booked the room - not sure if it’s broken or they just did it for the website). As always with Maze Rooms, my group had fun, but none of us really liked the room that much. We are always grateful for the memories but I would not book it again, nor can I recommend it. I am interested in checking out “Warlocked” by Questrooms or anything by Quest Tavern - perhaps if you are like me and love fantasy, that is the way to go. I know this review sounds very harsh, and we did have fun but overall it is not the best Maze Room.

One of my earliest games played and still one of my fondest escape room memories. Whenever I find myself explaining what an escape room is all about, I often find myself using this game as a reference point. It’s certainly on the higher end of escape rooms (they must have had an amazing budget) but I think it’s a great example of escape room potential. Maybe not the most challenging game out there, but certainly among the funnest and I wish I could play it again for the first time.

A whimsical and charmingly decorated room. Puzzles easy to medium difficulty. One surprising non-strenuous physical element involved. I think kids and families would have a great time in this room.
