If you are looking to play an escape room DO NOT play this game. The puzzles were decent but we were pushed through the room and not given any time to actually think. This is by far one of my worst escape experiences, the only good thing were the sets. Also this room was expensive, definitely not worth the money.

Different than other escape rooms as you will be pushed forward to a new room even if you haven’t solved the one you are in. Recommend the private experience because of that. You need to be quick and familiar with your fellow puzzle solvers. Theming is wonderful. Zero replay here even though we only did 12 of 15 puzzles.

We much preferred this game to the Jurassic Park one. Very detailed sets, and a variety of puzzles. I don’t love this format, but escape room fans will probably find this one more satisfying of the 2.

Overall, the experience is great. It depends a lot on who ends up in your group if you have a non-private game, but we had a generally good time. We found at times the audio was overpowering other features of the game and keeping our team from effectively communicating, which became frustrating. There is a sense at times of being “pushed through” certain puzzles, but other than that we had a great time playing and the staff is fantastic. If you play, definitely DON’T go in with the same expectations of a normal escape room though!!

The room was very well designed and the story was excellent but it was not your typical escape room in that some of the puzzles were very hard to solve but the game pushes forward even if you can’t solve the puzzle to leave one of the rooms after a certain amount of time. I highly recommend this Escape room for anyone that is a fan of back to the future.

Just want to say the staff and everyone here is so lovely. Unfortunately this room just wasn’t working for us. Puzzles weren’t working properly. Tech issues!!! Cute set but just not fully functional. I think this room just needs to work on their tech and make sure audio and videos aren’t the whole experience. There was more time for audio/video than game time.

My goodness, Universal. Way to take a brilliant idea and majorly fail at it. I really hope they listen to feedback and tweak this experience because it has potential. Pros: Beautiful rooms. Cool artifacts. Decent videos that play along for decent storytelling. Cons: Not possible to “escape” as you’re pushed through like it’s a line for a ride. Not enough time to take in the cool atmosphere. Started 45 mins late. Tech issues resulting in failure to complete puzzle. Repetitive puzzles making it feel poorly thought out. Horribly overpriced. Overall I cannot recommend this unless someone is a huge BTTF fan and just wants to look at the cool stuff they’ve put together. But an escape room or “escape adventure” as they call it, it is not.

Terrible, what a joke! Please please please know this is not an escape room but an -experience-. Universal built these experiences as a bunch of rooms meaning they can have multiple parties playing at once. An incredibly smart idea on paper, but not in reality. You are rushed through rooms. While you’re in the middle of a puzzle an automated voice tells you they’ve solved it and you move on to the next room, as otherwise you will be holding up the next party. Extremely demotivating and just annoying. The music and ambient sounds are way too loud and distract from the recordings needed to solve the puzzles. It’s expensive and not worth it. It feels like Universal wanted to jump on the brand wagon but failed miserably. Stay away as you will leave frustrated. We had high expectations but those were not met in the slightest.

I was looking very much forward to playing this room. We booked this and the Jurassic park one on the same day and had very high expectations since this is Universal. The Jurassic Park room had some nice moments, but the Back to the future one was very frustrating instead of fun. Normally there are parts in an escape rooms that go faster or slower, but at the end you will solve it. In these both rooms, you get no time to understand what needs to be done, because there is a time pressure. The next group is ready to enter. ($$$$$$$$) So if you take a bit longer, than they take over and do not let you know what the solution was or what needed to be done and you get directed to the next room. I think we are experienced escape room players (49 rooms), but got really frustrated here. You do get out, because you have to, but with absolutely not a satisfying feeling. We paid for a private room, so 390 dollar excl. tax for each room and think it was way overpriced!! Would NOT recommend this!

Incredible frustrating escape experience… let me start with the positive side, the room was very nice, professional, hi tech, precisely what you would expect from Universal. Once inside they rush you to do the puzzles, you can never end them, because they need to keep you busy the whole time you are in the room. So this results in irritation. The puzzles are not logic, it’s more trial and error then actual puzzles you normally solve with your mind. This causes more frustration because you do not know what exactly you are doing. If you do not get it fast, the program takes over and solves it for you and that gives an unsatisfied feeling. In a normal escape room; you have parts that you do fast and parts that take longer, but in the end you have solved everything by your self. Basically you are rushed to a nice decor with zero satisfaction. When we got out we talked a bit with the employee about the puzzles we did not understand, she explained what we supposed to have done, but non of it did make any sense. We really looked forward to this but it became a total disaster and ripoff. Stupid room, don’t go there.
