In the heart of Escaparium Laval's massive complex nestles a mysterious monument classified as a World Heritage Site, forgotten for several centuries: an ancient cathedral. Escaparium was built around this characterful building that once served as a sanctuary for a now extinct cult. Archaeological excavations and restoration of the monument have been underway for several years now. This allowed us to make major discoveries on the history of the cathedral and on a certain cult that we name, "The Order". Artifacts of rituals dating back centuries have been found and are currently being investigated. Come take the guided tour through the myths and legends of a forgotten past. A trip which you will never forget. (this is an escape game)!

The Cathedral is, and I speak for my whole group and I'm sure many others, more than just an escape room. We finally made the decision to try it out after having it recommended by every other escape game that we had been to, and we were floored. From the beginning to the end there was never a dull moment. An incredible set and sound design made for a complete immersion that made us feel like we were living an adventure movie. Hairs still stand up on my neck when I think about one part, but I'll leave you to experience that yourself.

One of the best rooms I’ve ever done. Amazing set design. Immersive. Outstanding

Really immersive. Lots of different types of puzzles.

Just wild. Was constantly surprised, excited, scared, and immersed the entire time. Another level compared to others I’ve done. This is a must do if you like scary escape rooms.

Awesome room and a must see. Was surprised it was rated 4th in the world though. I actually like other rooms by this company more than this room.

Absolutely breathtaking sets and atmosphere. Words can’t even describe the amount of detail and depth in this room. Just absolutely, purely fantastic. Even with the set being as good as it is, the gameplay enhances the experiences even more, and the puzzles advance the story flawlessly. The experience was definitely unnerving, and a couple of parts were outright scary to me, but it was so so so worth it. If you can come play this game, you absolutely MUST. Second to none.

Breathtakingly immersive set with an incredible scope. We loved this experience. We traveled to do 5 rooms at Escaparium and were not disappointed. The sheer magnitude of what they do here is incredible and kudos to the team of people that created this room and run it every time it plays. This isn’t a one-person operation for sure.

Our group really enjoyed this room. We don’t like scary rooms and after talking to the owner we decided we would play this room. However, with that said, I personally was really worried that I wouldn’t enjoy the room so the owner was really kind and told me what he thought were the scariest parts so I could enjoy the room and contribute to the game. With the information that he gave me which I will not share I was able to enjoy the room and I was prepared for certain parts. If you or anyone in your group are worried about this room, the owner, will tell you and I want it to come from him and not me. But all that to say I did enjoy this room even if some parts were a bit more intense than others.

The best ambiance ever! Been to 15ishhh places... The is the top for ambiance. It's like an adventure (like in a movie). The game master was giving many hints to make sure we could live the adventure till the end. Perfect, just enough to make sure the game run well. The challenges were in general medium difficulty. A Must!!!!

The Forgotten Cathedral is so grandiose and ambitious that I can't believe it exists. The sheer scale of what escaparium has built is insane, but the game never lingers on it, and instead moves you from one stunning environment to the next. Even the "smaller" areas were breathtaking, and one room in particular just took my breath away. Combine this with magical special effects and some spectacular sound design, and you have a room that I can't believe wasn't built by Disney or Universal Studios. However, I do think that it is important to mention that the puzzling here didn't quite live up to the promise of the set design. The room felt more task based and I felt was lacking a good multi-level puzzle like ones we found in Escapariums other games. The tech was also finicky at times, and we had a particularly rough moment in the final room that took away a ton of our momentum. I think, despite the flaws, everyone who can should play the Cathedral just to see what is possible with the escape room medium. If this is what we can expect more of in the coming years, I am extremely excited to keep playing games and seeing what comes next.
