We expected Cutthroat Cavern to be the highlight of our trip but it was Anubis that truly blew us away!

Like others have said, should be a 90 minute game. Our group is experienced and this was the only game out of 6 at this location that we did not get out of. Had about 3 puzzles remaining. Atmosphere/set is well done but they really need to fix the games relying on iPads. QR codes for clues ruin immersion and messed up our flow. And not all of their games do this so it feels random. This game relies heavily on a journal to explain each puzzle which is also not my fave.

In my opinion Tomb of Anubis is their best game, I would putbit uo against Cut Throat cavern. Puzzle flow is definitely better innTomb of Anubis but you just need more time. We got out of Anubis 60 mins and 12 seconds.

We played 6 games at 13th Gate and out of all of them Tomb of Anubis was the only room I enjoyed from start to finish. The flow and logic of the room not only matched the design but enhanced it. Aside from their cumbersome iPads (honestly one of my least favorite things iβve ever experienced at an escape facility) I have few things I would change about this room.

For our third run with 13th Gate we had a hard time but an absolute blast! The reveals and set of this game were absolutely amazing and had my group and Iβs jaws to the floor very soon after start of our adventure in the Tomb of Anubis. With that the puzzles here were okay in terms of flow but very complex to solve with a variety of puzzle types as well as some that I had never seen before. The using of a variety of tools and small touches also makes this game a beautiful one to just experience. Through and through this game is by far the hardest of their bunch but is a must experience for anyone who comes here to try a game or two :)

my personal least favorite of their room. some of the symbols looked exactly the same and, not a huge fan of sand :)

Every complaint I've seen about this room is valid. It is absolutely a 90+ minute room to do in 60 minutes and out of all of 13th Gate's rooms, this is the only one we felt less thrilled and more anxious/exhausted by the end of it despite finishing with 5 seconds remaining. There's a few easy things they could do to fix the trouble points and considering it's been years since its release and they keep getting the same feedback, I'm assuming they're not looking to change things. The iPad was useless, the flashlights we got didn't always work, I don't love working almost entirely through journals, and I'm really glad our GM (River) contributed as much positivity to our room as she did. That said... The set - DAMN. The puzzles - DAMN. The wow factors - DAMN.

This is a 90 minute room disguised as a 60 minute room. Our team booked 2 hours back to back in order to enjoy the experience and not rush. An amazing room PACKED with puzzles and things to do. We did it with 6 and got out in 1 hour 35ish minutes. I know other groups of 6 have done it an an hour but there is no way you are enjoying the amazing set pieces and theming.

There was a lot of anticipation and lead up to this room. It was our 4th room of the day, and we admit we were a bit disappointed after the morning session. Anubis did NOT disappoint. It has won several awards and I can say it definitely deserved all of the accolades. The puzzles and theming fit perfect. There was a journal that ran you through the room and it was also done very well. The reveals in this room are the best we have seen so far anywhere. This was an amazing Indiana Jones type adventure. We escaped and found out that only 5% of first timers have completed the room. Our GM Caitlin was fun to work with for our last room of the day. Would love to have more time to really explore the room. That is my only critique for this room. There is so much going on and you are so invested in breaking out that sometimes you donβt get to stop and enjoy just how beautiful the room really is. Puzzles were a bit on the difficult side at times and possibly a bit more abstract than a straight forward room however we were able to figure most of them out. We were given warnings in most of the rooms that the iPad they used for clues was not working properly and that they were trying to phase it out. This is actually a positive because the rooms that it did work in really took away from the overall aesthetic. Plus it uses QR codes and literally puts the code near the puzzle. Glad they are looking to phase that out. Definitely worth the trip!
