Dr. Hader’s Cartoon World

What a lovely and fun story with wacky hijinks mixed in. It made me think of a silent movie plot, with a dastardly villain trying to foil a young couple. I particularly enjoyed the narration and how I felt like I was moving through the story both as a viewer and as a participant. Some really fun and satisfying "hands on" activities that felt very cool to do. As a group of two we completed the main story and were just one puzzle away from completing all the "bonus puzzles." After hearing about the last puzzle I am not sure if we would have ever gotten through it's many layers no matter how much time we had! 😂

I rate this room a 4/5 (check out my bio for rating system). The set and theme earn 1.5 points. This room fully embraces its comic book aesthetic and does a great job immersing you in its cartoonish world. The storyline is super cute and includes a surprise twist that didn't go where I expected it to. It's also obvious the creators are Gen Xers, with a few fun '90s throwbacks sprinkled throughout. Anyone still have a VCR? 😆 Puzzles get 1 point. Overall, they were enjoyable, and I liked the addition of optional bonus puzzles if you have extra time remaining. My score was lowered a bit because one of the tools in our room wasn't fully functional, which made its corresponding puzzle become a time sucker and frustrating. Especially since it would be a cheap replacement! My enjoyment gets 1.5 points. I had a great time in this room. The surprise ending was a lot of fun, the theme was charming, and the staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and added to the overall experience.

The room was really fun. The story was great, one part was really funny, but overall the room was super fun to experience. I’d 100% recommend, it’s great! Bonus puzzles are hard though, we had 15 minutes and only did 2.

This room was super cool and unique! Puzzles were just the right amount of difficulty. Definitely recommend it!!

Had a lot of fun playing Dr Haders Cartoon World! This is our second game at Scenario Escape Room (we previously did Mad Rapper) and both games were phenomenal! Dr Haders might be a touch easier of the two! Both games were very high quality! The gameplay was very fun, puzzles pretty novel, not terribly difficult though they are on the harder side. Not scary, though the room is a bit darker/dimmer, more for the atmosphere than trying to make it spooky or anything. A good mix of traditional locks and also trigger locks. Staff and GM were very friendly and amazing! Let us stay a bit over time to finish the brownie points puzzles because there wasn’t a group after us. Overall it was a lot of fun! Thank you for the amazing time! 🥰

DHCW’s only downfall is the sheer AMOUNT of physical number and word locks around the room. The ways you GET the codes themselves are certainly creative but at some point it becomes a lot when each space you open is just covered in locked boxes and doors. The story is a lot of fun and the brownie points at the end give quick players a fun extra challenge including some of the hardest puzzles in the game.

Did the room with 3 people total and felt the most satisfied. I would change nothing! The room was fun and we enjoyed the extra brownie points puzzles at the end!

Played this room right after mad rapper! Loved how different this room was. There are extra brownie puzzles at the end if you have extra time. Shout out to Andy for letting us do a back to back room!

Loved the game play and so proud to have completed the room with all the “brownie points”and no hints - excited for them to hopefully build more rooms. Unique puzzles with the fun soundtrack that keeps the game play high energy.

Loved this room and all of its puzzles! I would highly recommend it as an escape room “must do”. It’s just one of those rooms that makes you smile and feel young again!
