This room was pretty fun and had great atmosphere. There was one puzzle that didn’t totally make sense, I figured it out by ignoring parts of it but when I asked the GM he also said he had no idea it didn’t make sense either. So that was a bit weird. We were also bummed we were not able to play the bonus puzzles because we needed to finish the room 2 min earlier (20 min before the hour finished), but that is our own fault!

Thank you for the kind review. This was totally on us :D Your GM was new and just off training last week, our error for not completely training them. I apologize for the missteps. Don't tell anyone, but he could have totally let you try the bonuses too :P We hope you will join us again soon and give him a chance at redemption lol

Despite a pretty standard pirate escape room theme, this room still managed to shine though with superior theming and unique puzzles. Also greatly enjoyed the addition of the bonus puzzles--we finished the room itself in 38 minutes, but the puzzles gave us an added 22 minutes of fun and challenge, we completed those with literally 13 seconds left! We would still choose some of the other Herndon rooms over this one, but it is a top notch option.
Plenty to do and somewhat non linear, so kept everyone busy. Also a few unique spins on the pirate theme puzzles that we had not seen before.
Well themed as all of Herndon games are; especially appreciated that they made the effort to include animated views for the portholes.
Top notch treatment as always even when they were clearly busy on a holiday weekend night.

We are happy you enjoyed Maritiem Mutiny. It is meant to be an easier game that friends can use to introduce others to the concept of Escape Rooms. We do have the ultra-hard bonus puzzles in Mutiny just for those hardcore players looking for an extra challenge.

Visually this game is excellent. Puzzle wise though, I think it is the weakest of the games we played here. Many of the puzzles did not connect very well. A few had solves that were a little left field. It is not a hard game.

Thank you Scott for playing Mutiny, and ALL FOUR games at ERH. We really appreciate it. We tried to create the feeling of being inside a ship on the seas. It was a fun but exhausting room the build lol. The puzzles in Mutiny are designed to be more forgiving and welcoming to newer players. We created the bonus puzzles for those that breeze though so there is an added challenge, but at its heart, this is a game built for newer adventures.

The room was good. I would rate it medium on the difficulty level. Theming was great, and it was super fun that they let us have pirate hats to wear from the beginning. We managed 2/4 of the bonus puzzles at the end with our last 20 mins, but would have never figured the last two out.

Good room all around. Puzzles were good but it’s the atmosphere that made this room memorable Gameplay: the gameplay was very fun, and I was very happy to see a bit of the story, kind of woven into the puzzles. I feel like a lot of rooms today give you a background of a story, and then you just saw a whole bunch of puzzles that don’t really progress the story. While this room did not take great strides in doing that, it was nice to see them try it. Puzzles were fun and diverse as all raven chase rooms are. I will say this is their easiest room (not played cryptic grove) so parties with people who have done a lot of rooms and are good at them, maybe have a max of like four or five. We had six and got out in 35 minutes. Atmosphere is what really brings this room up in value. I’ve done a couple pirate theme rooms, but this one has done the best with the atmosphere with how much they made it feel like you’re on a pirate ship, as well as all the props that are used.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience in Mutiny! We enjoyed creating this pirate ship environment and were able to do a lot of little tricks we wanted to try (potholes, cell bars, real wood floor) to transport the players into a new environment. The puzzles in Mutiny are meant to be a comfortable difficulty for all players. We wanted to create unique puzzles that were not overly complex but also introduce normal ER-style mechanics like pigpen and alphanumeric shifts while also giving players physical puzzles to interact with. Hopefully, the much more difficult bonus puzzles gave you a bigger challenge :D We look forward to hosting you again soon at Cryptid Grove!
