The Cabin
The Cipher Room Newtown
Escape room
IRL
We decided to do one of the Cipher Rooms after a recommendation from the owner of another Escape Room who said they have one of the best rooms in the whole Sydney. And he was 100% right. We did it in a group of three and it was great fun. Great combination of traditional and modern solutions, some of the tasks were really interesting and we've never seen them before. Definitely requires an attention to detail but you'll have so much fun doing it!
Paris Escape
Social Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
There are so many escape rooms in Sydney that it wasn't easy to choose one. But we couldn't have chosen better! We booked the "Paris Escape" and it was a perfect way to start off our adventure with Social Escape Rooms. Everything in the room made sense, the riddles were diversified. We managed to escape with several minutes still left on the clock and it only made us want more so right away we booked another room with them. What's absolutely exceptional about this Escape Room is that after the game they provide you with some stats (both serious and funny ones). We've done a lot of rooms and have never seen this before. A great way to stand out! Special shout-out to Sky Daddy for creating an incredible, friendly atmosphere!
Baker Street Mystery
Social Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
We did all rooms in Social Escape Rooms and loved all of them. This one was second most difficult they have, in our opinion. We left after 59 minutes and 57 seconds! The room required a big attention to detail, some creativity, and logical thinking but it was all manageable and clear. Good theme, challenging puzzles, really great fun!
A Quest For Freedom
Olde City Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
We LOVE escape rooms that are connected to the place where they are and always try to look for one. And this room was a must for us. The theme was great, every single thing was connected, some puzzles were a little bit more challenging but we felt that with a bit more time and concentration, we could have done it without hints. Absolute pleasure and fun!
Lost Symbol
Puzzle Room Bangkok
Escape room
IRL
The puzzles were mostly interesting, linear and not very difficult. However, what made the experience a bit frustrating was the darkness. While we don't mind darkness when it makes sense for the theme, here it wasn't particularly justified. What's more, most of the time we were in the dark and some hints were not visible without additional light. We skipped one puzzle because it was particularly frustrating and impossible to do for us in the darkness. I'd say the room has a great potential but requires a bit more work to be really fun.
Prison Break
Puzzle Room Bangkok
Escape room
IRL
It was our first room in this location and we loved it! We decided to do this particular room because of the topic and we were not disappointed. Everything in the room made perfect sense, we struggled with finding one small element but other than that, it was pure pleasure. If you have at least a bit of experience with escape rooms, this one shouldn't be a huge challenge for you but still will help you spend some nice time. Huge plus for props (especially one...). Very immersive experience.
Treasure Chest
Jindabyne Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
We found this place by accident when the weather was too bad to go hiking. All the traditional escape rooms were not available but we were offered the Treasure Chest instead. And while you don't get to physically escape, it's still a really interesting and challenging concept and we enjoyed ourselves a lot! We needed one hint on the way but most puzzles made sense and were really well done. If you get a chance, do it to experience something different, you'll not be disappointed
The Horror Hotel
The Last Prison Escape Room
Escape room
IRL
As much as we love escape rooms, this one was a disappointment. First of all, it was ran in total darkness and no lights were provided, we had to use our own phones throughout the whole game. Needless to say, it's very difficult to do anything when one of your hands is constantly busy holding a light. There were not many puzzles and honestly, most of them didn't make a logical sense. I think someone really wanted to make the room difficult and overthought it. We escaped but it was not a pleasant experience and at the end we just wanted to leave the room as quickly as possible.
Alice In Puzzleland
Escape Hunt - Sydney
Escape room
IRL
We liked the room, even though it was really small and probably more appropriate for two people than three or more. It would be perfect for kids, it's colourful and the theme was family-friendly. Having said that, the stuff was very unwelcoming, they barely talked to us before the game, then forgot to start the clock (!). When we left, we asked how much time we took to escape, they told us we overran while in reality we escape within 35-40 minutes. Good room, very poor overall experience so having so many other options in Sydney, we're probably not going to come back.
