Heresy: 1897 [Immersive Theatre]
Doors Of Divergence

So the most interesting thing I can say about this was that my party was pretty evenly split between “immersive theater” fans, and “escape room” fans and both groups had a great time. There’s also some fun to be had with the branching nature of the narrative that’s good for comparing notes with other players.

(Played as a continuation from Heresy): The set design is still very strong, with some good puzzling throughout. The meta narrative is also still intriguing. I would caution people though the spookiness factor jumped up quite a bit for this one (and may jump higher depending on the story you bring into the room to start with). While this can be a very subjective factor it’s worth considering.
Otherworld Philadelphia [Immersive Art]

An interactive art space, with an overarching meta-narrative. The focus is definitely on set design, but there are mysteries to be solved.

For a game that was essentially a commercial for the show Jack Ryan and Amazon Alexa technology, it was actually a lot of fun. The gimmick of using Alexa functions to help solve puzzles held up throughout the experience. The set design was also pretty impressive considering the location was inside the show floor of New York Comic Con.
