The Eckstein ExperimentMass EscapeEscape roomIRLSimply the best escape room that my group has ever done, the room that we judge all other rooms by, it's impossible not to come out of this room talking about every major prop, puzzle or experience. If you get the chance, go into the room. You'll know the one. The final room and series of puzzles felt weak compared to the rest of it all, but only in that we were riding such a high from everything before that! Our group got one of the all time high scores for this room which felt amazing, too! Final rating: 10/10
The Pentex ConspiracyMass EscapeEscape roomIRLAnother phenomenal room from the group over at Mass Escape. This room replaced the older Ice Station military base room and you'd never even know it. An immediate split in the group made for some fun accidental puzzle breaks as we stumbled through to the main attractions. We played early in the games life and ran into some tech issues, but overall it was a fantastic experience. There are some spooky elements to this room, so be aware of you're thinking of bringing little kids to the room.
P.T. Railways: Rebel RunPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLAnother major hit from these guys- the tech that they use here is just unreal. It matches some of the other absolutely massive escape room places that have way bigger budgets. Some of the puzzles in this one require some big brain, macro thinking, but the parallel puzzling really makes smaller groups feel like they accomplished something way harder then it is.
44 Winterwood LaneMass EscapeEscape roomIRLWhat a crazy room that borders on spooky that has some of the best use of props I've ever seen. There are a couple jump scares that are so well done, and it's such an atmospheric room that weaves puzzles into the story so well, we've introduced a bunch of people to escape rooms with this one. Yeah, we've done this room not once, but *three* times in total. Final rating: 10/10
The U-BoatRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLWow. Red Fox's reputation preceeds them in this room and it's seen in every little detail. From the authentic looking valves and dials in the engine room, to the set dressings and mechanical elements, this room is FUN. Bonus points if you're into ships and submarines like our group was. A FANTASTIC room by a group that shows they really love the craft.
Jungle 2: The Next DimensionPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLWhat a cool legally-distinct-Jumanji room. From top to bottom, it just has such great character. See it through to the very end to experience one of the craziest ending moments in a room we've seen to this day. Just...........so silly.
Rocky Point ParkRI Riddle RoomEscape roomIRLWe've done a lot of rooms, we've seen a lot of awe inducing puzzles and props, but nothing could have prepared us for *this*. Rocky Point Park may be one of the best rooms we've ever done, with some of the best set design. The puzzles are a little weaker, but the ingenuity of the designs make up for their sometimes lack of complexity. This room is a MUST DO like many of the others here at RI Riddle Room, so check it out when you have the chance! Final Rating: 9/10
Be'WitchedLara's Labyrinth - WethersfieldEscape roomIRLNot our first room with an actor, but easily the best! We were one of the last groups for the day, and the GM really got into the experience with my wife and I. The room itself was a ton of fun with many great jumps and moments that had us laughing and talking about all the way home. The build quality here is top notch, the acting is phenomenal, and as a group with over 100 escapes under our belt, this one isn't to be missed!
The Jungle DimensionPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLA great experience with lots of cool little callbacks to the inspiration for this room. We've done a lot of "jungle board game experience" style rooms and this one was one of the best. The props all felt amazing, there were some exciting "wow" moments and when we thought we solved the room, there was one more puzzle that made us really smile. Great room at a fantastic location.
Baggage BanditsUpside Down Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis was our first room from the Upside Down team since they took over this escape room operation down in Mashpee and they didn't disappoint! A fantastic little game that absolutely flies as you jump from puzzle to puzzle- there are a few really fun puzzles and surprises that made our small group of two go WOW, too. The owners here are masters of making smaller rooms jam packed with stuff to do, and they certainly hit the mark once again since moving from Taunton. This is a must-do if you're in the area and looking for a new room to do.
