Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Castle Adventure
Escapology - Clackamas

A couple minutes in, a game master accidentally unlocked the wrong door and the room had to be reset. Later, a mechanic that was supposed to trigger an audio and visual reveal ONLY triggered the audio sequence. Without the info in the visual we banged our heads against the next puzzle for about 10 minutes. We asked for a clue, and the clue they gave us was exactly what we were doing. We asked for another clue, and they asked us if we'd used the info in the visual. Luckily we were able to re-trigger the visual and proceed. But overall it left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Cute room if it's working, especially if you're a fan of Scooby-Doo.

Liked the puzzles and theming, but everything in the room was vaguely damp or slimey. We thought maybe it was part of the theme (ectoplasm or something) but then we did another room at Escapism and it was the same. We think they spray everything down with lots and LOTS of disinfectant. So, sanitary, but gross.

I really wish I could rate this one positively because it has some GREAT theming and some really cool puzzles, but a couple issues make it hard to recommend: - Many things are damp to the touch. Paper clues were especially gross. Not super sure why, but we think maybe they drench everything in disinfectant between groups. - There were a lot of elements of the room that looked liked puzzles but weren't. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but in a really non-linear and complicated room it can get confusing, especially when... - One key component simply didn't work. The GM had us reset all the switches, check the power, etc, but eventually had to just give us the information it was supposed to display.
