The Museum Of CuriosityExit Puzzles Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI had a great time in the museum of curiosity. Lots to do that kept everybody active. One of the few rooms that when they say they can house a larger group, they actually mean it. I liked the mix of traditional locks and new mechanisms. The room is almost a little cypher heavy but those puzzles never take too long to complete. I liked that the GM never let you struggle for long before offering a hint. They were passionate and clearly cared a lot about their room and escape rooms in general.
Crypt of ShadowsHour to MidnightEscape roomIRLRoom was a lot of fun but a large amount of the room is done in pitch black. Maybe choose a different room if you have a nice manicure.
DaVinci ChallengeLara’s Labyrinth - San Diego [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLWe originally were going to be doing the Sheepshank room, and when we show up (party of three) our original GM had us waiting 20 minutes in the lobby while he “got the room ready.” A new GM came in and convinced us to swap to DaVinci. This GM was great. Stayed in Character, was very friendly, and extremely helpful. They gave us hints unprompted, which I generally dislike, but our GM was hilarious, so I didn’t complain. The puzzles were very interesting, but several mechanisms were broken. Leading to the GM telling us to manually open secret compartments, and overriding locks. Three was the perfect number of people. The decor was great but the ambiance music shut off in the middle of the room. Overall, this is my least favorite of Lara Labyrinth’s rooms. It was a bummer, because the other rooms are some of the best I’ve ever done. And bottom line, I think this room wasn’t worth the $60 price tag.
Mission's Breakout: The Ultimate Bank HeistMission Escape GamesEscape roomIRLPretty fun, we did it with three people, six would be too many. The room is big, but not that big.
The Family JewelsIdaho Escape Rooms - Ammon LocationEscape roomIRLThis is a great first escape room for a small group of people. The room itself pretty small, do NOT bring more than 4 people. For experienced escapees, it’s just okay. A little light on the decor, as well as lacking the ambiance that really makes rooms pop. The puzzles weren’t TOO simple that you could blow through, but like I said earlier, it’s a small room. If you’ve been to a lot of escape rooms, I’d limit it to two people.
