The Killer's PromiseSaginaw EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was our 38th Escape Room, and we escaped with about 8 minutes remaining with two participants. Reading the description on this rooms' website, the level of gore is not accurately conveyed. The props are amazing and their commitment to the horror theme is very evident. It is grotesque to say the least, moreso than any other horror-themed room we have visited. This room has so much potential, but all things considered, the experience fell short for us. The parking situation is practically non-existent. When you approach the very cool looking warehouse, you have to press a ring doorbell and wait for an attedant. When we asked to use the restroom, we were directed to a port-a-potty in the parking lot. The lobby had a strong scent of litter boxes and urine - of you have sensitivity to cats this venue may irritate or allergies. There is no warning of this on their website. The lobby is very cool and aesthetically decorated. Throughout the game, our Game Master Mia and did an amazing job of keeping us on pace and directing us when puzzles were misinterpreted or malfunctioned... Which happened a lot. One item in the room were broken which required a complete electric reset midway through our time. Mia handled it with professionalism, but it really detracted from the experience and immersion. The variety of puzzles was a little disappointing - there were a significant number of red herrings in almost every puzzle that were designed to throw you off. But rather than creating difficulty to make puzzles feel "hard", it added frustration and made the puzzles less fun. Even though the room aesthetics were fantastic, I don't think we will be back to try additional rooms at this location.
The HeistGreat Lakes Escape GameEscape roomIRLWe completed this room with two people and escaped with 20:33 remaining. This room functioned as expected, and all of the props and puzzles were operational without the need of Game Master override. If you're a beginner or have only done a couple of rooms, this would be great for you. Most of the puzzles are very logical and obviously "use this thing to get that answer". Our GM, Ashley, did a great job communicating our progress throughout our play. By all means, this was a good room, but as experienced enthusiasts we found this room a little underwhelming for the "most difficult" of the location.
UFO: Alien Voyage - CLOSEDEscape Room BrightonEscape roomIRLOverall, this room was a good experience. There was one puzzle that malfunctioned and had to be over-ridden by our GM, Jules. Another puzzle was being finicky and she did a great job communicating with us when props and puzzles didn't behave as intended, and assisted immediately. While this is the oldest room at the location, it's really neat and full of great puzzles and lots of logic. The GM, Jules, is fantastic and did a great job with clue management and encouragement.
Dr. Sulkenβs Laboratory - CLOSEDEscape Room BrightonEscape roomIRLIf you love rooms with a LOT of puzzles and riddles, this one is for you. While not individually difficult, the volume of puzzles was what made this room challenging. This room could be very beginner friendly. We completed it with two people, but it could easily accommodate 4 to 6 newer players. Keeping the items you find in the room organized is very important and will aid in your efficiency and success. The introduction video was a little difficult to understand with the background music and room sounds playing simultaneously. Our game master, Jules, did a great job of explaining the room and setting expectations of the large volume of tasks ahead of us.
Shipwreck IslandEscape Room BrightonEscape roomIRLRoom was a lot of fun. I feel like anyone can enjoy this room, novice to experienced. Max was a great Game Master. Would recommend and would return for other games at this location.
Witching HourEscape Room ZoneEscape roomIRLNatural on the experience and room. Game Masters do not watch your progress, so you have to update them when you ask for a clue.
Casino HeistEscape Room ZoneEscape roomIRLPuzzles were finicky and mechanisms needed stronger springs to open doors when triggered. Game Masters do not watch and you have to update them where you are in the room when you ask for a clue. Timer doesn't stop when you escape, so hard to get an actual escape time.
The Seed Of HopeThe Sanctuary Escape GamesEscape roomIRLBy far the best room I have ever done. It was extremely immersive and didn't feel like a typical escape room, it was an experience. Didn't get out but was perfectly fine with that because of how much fun we had.
Nightmare at the MuseumPuzzleWorksEscape roomIRLVery Emersive Room, it had elements we haven't seen before in other rooms
The DigEscape the Room - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLThe room had no clear flow; many of the elements felt like "dead ends", or did not lead to another puzzle. There were broken or malfunctioning mechanisms that took away from the overall experience. The staging and room props were nice and the venue was clean.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLInteresting puzzle that require communications between players. Travis was great. Make sure you listen to the Game Master (otherwise you might ruin parts of the experience aka magnet).
Gold RushThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLVery fun room, nothing crazy but the atmosphere and the room was just Fun. Great for families.
The HeistThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLFun room, we played with strangers (Family of 4). They were newer to escape rooms, but we all had a blast. Had a couple of funny and rememberable moments.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLNick was great, unfortunately one of the puzzles was not functioning properly. Very Exciting moments through our the room. Great production.
Mission: MarsThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLBest production room I have been to. Nick was great.
