Escape From WonderlandRush Hour Live Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis was a cute escape room! Having done a lot of escape rooms, I would say that it was in the upper half but not the upper quartile of my ranking, in terms of quality. The production value was very well done but not amazing. In terms of puzzles, there were a lot of combination locks and physical keys, and some very typical/common puzzle types that didn’t fully fit the theme. There were also some creative and on-theme puzzles too, though! There were some technology-powered puzzles whose implementation was a bit clunky/fussy, and one or two puzzles where I felt there wasn’t enough logical connection between the pieces (especially in the last room) Overall though it was an enjoyable afternoon activity, so no real complaints!
Madame BelladonnaBreak From Reality Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLA cute room! The set is personally designed and built by the owner, so there’s a lot of love in the sets— but of course don’t expect the kind of immersive set that comes with the bigger chains. Puzzles were a mix of standard combination locks and a few clever ones, and all felt on-theme. There were some technological snags, like fussy electronics not triggering as expected, but it was mostly okay. There was one puzzle I especially didn’t like where (and this isn’t a spoiler, the GM told us this would happen as soon as we entered the room) the GM just has to give you the answer through the hint monitor. It sort of broke the immersion… the story was cute and the room flow was quite linear. Overall the room was nice— not in my top ten but a solid experience, especially for a small business.
