13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLWe had so much fun playing this game. The puzzles fit the theme perfectly and the flow was terrific. Loved meeting the owners and our game master rocked! So excited to play whatever else they create in the future.
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLThe intro to this game was one of the best we have ever experienced. The set and decor was fabulous. The shop keepers talking to you was a great touch. We loved the puzzles and game play. Highly recommended.
80's Radical Radio RampageEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLA fun game, especially for those that love the 80s. We would have liked to see more puzzles as this was on the easy side, but a great room for beginners.
8-Bit EscapeEscape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLOh the nostalgia. This game is full of early 80s callbacks. The flow and puzzles are okay. There were a couple of puzzles that were very unique and I appreciate that. I’ve played a handful of 80s games and this is arguably one of the better ones.
90s NostalgiaBoxed In Escape Rooms - FestusEscape roomIRLAfter nearly 300 rooms played all over the US, Boxed In has the best designed rooms of any small town we have played in. The set design of a 90s bedroom and video store was on point. Not all the puzzles hit it out of the park, but overall most of the puzzles, the flow, the nostalgia, and the set design made for a fantastically enjoyable game. We just wished they’d take the team photos in the rooms like so many other venues do these days.
A Death In WonderlandEscape 406Escape roomIRLWe were pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this game was. The puzzles were good, the set design was fun. You may have to yell for hints more than once as the owner is running the games and lobby. The hints are slid to you under the door, so that was a bit different. It’s dark at places but you can use the light on your phones. Overall, I recommend this game if you’re in the area.
Algernon’s Shop of Magical GoodsEscape Room RVAEscape roomIRLWe really liked the set design in the first room. The game itself is decent. The end is a bit silly and out of place. But overall, we liked the game.
Alice's White Rabbit RescueTwisted Room EscapesEscape roomIRLCute set with some tricky puzzles. We liked this one more than Sweet Shoppe. FYI, there are religious things around the lobby and bathrooms so this is obviously a Christian owned business. It’s also a very family friendly place with things for kids to find in each room. Our GM was not the friendliest, but all the other staff were nice.
An Office EscapeCinema Escape Rooms - Los AlamitosEscape roomIRLAs other reviews have said, Office fans will enjoy this game as there are tons of Office Easter eggs. I’m a fan of the show, so it was fun to see things referenced from the series. What I didn’t like is all the searching. Nearly every puzzle was solved by searching for the answers that were around the room, not actually solving puzzles. So I’m mixed on it. On a scale between Michael (love it) and Stanley (hate it) I’d give it a Meredith.
ArcadePortland Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe’ve played a handful of arcade themed rooms. This one doesn’t feel like an arcade. It’s a room full of puzzles that are themed around kids games including arcade games, home console games, and card games. This one room game is perfect for families of three to five players. The puzzles are fine. We like the prize redemption aspect of the game. The game master is in the room the whole time like all their other rooms. Even though this is an easy room, we did enjoy this game as a whole. If you have not been here before, you should know that this venue is in a medical office building. When you arrive in the office building lobby, they will come out near the time of your game to get you. They do have their own small lobby in their main room, but you can’t sit there for some reason. We played three games and each time we had to go back out and wait in the building office lobby, which actually has less seating then their own lobby. Strange.
