Black and White CafeMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLI loved this room and its very cute puzzles. My only complaint would be that I wished there were more rooms! But I really can’t complain because it was awesome. Oh, one more thing that we found odd, once you were in the room, you were not allowed to leave and come back in. Make sure you use the restroom before starting!
The DollhouseBlack Cat Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was a really great room with puzzles that made sense. I did it with my husband and two young grandchildren (11 and 10) who are great at escape rooms. The puzzles were clever, and the game flowed smoothly. The only thing I wish we had done differently was to try it at a more difficult level. It’s cool that you can choose how difficult you want it to be. The game master was great and commented how smart my grandkids were! I didn’t tell him that I take them along so that I can escape. 😉
The Family CabinQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun room with great puzzles and some nostalgic parts that added to the uniqueness. My only complaint was that when we asked for a hint, the game master, who wasn’t overly enthusiastic, led us straight to a clue without directing us to solve the puzzle that would’ve led us there. Overall great room.
The EscapeThe Unlockables - San DiegoEscape roomIRLWhile I think this was a good room with interesting puzzles, it wasn’t a favorite of mine. Some who did the room with me loved it, but it felt very difficult at times (and only had a 67% success rate for the month). I also didn’t care for the somewhat gruesome theme. On a positive note, the puzzles at the beginning were fun and creative and our game master was awesome!
The Lost ExpeditionSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLFun and interesting game, though I do feel like it was probably more impressive in its earlier days. We escaped somewhere around 40 minutes. Perhaps a smaller group than our 8 would’ve been more appropriate.
Lunar LockdownEscape2Win ClevelandEscape roomIRLI didn’t love this room as much as I had hoped I would. Everyone enjoyed it, and there were some neat aspects, but it interfered with the flow in the room because one part wasn’t working right. Great tech despite the wrench in gameplay.
The DinerQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFun room with a nice setting where it actually did feel like you were in a 50s diner. Lots of locks and figuring out what code went to which lock. I feel we were “cheated” out of part of our game because one puzzle had already been solved (written on a whiteboard that hadn’t been erased). Gamemaster seemed like maybe he was distracted while we were playing.
HostageBreakout Games - AshevilleEscape roomIRLI was looking for more tech, multiple rooms, etc. and went by reviews on a travel site. I was very disappointed. There were a few cool aspects, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of excitement.
