Nightmare HotelGame Over Escape Rooms - Santa ClaraEscape roomIRL11/02/2024 - Colinho Escapers We walked into the Nightmare Hotel, and the name certainly lived up to its reputation 👀 The experience was bittersweet—we loved some of the mechanisms, and the scares were perfectly timed, but the game master, unfortunately, didn’t help the situation. We were stuck on a puzzle for so long that we practically deserved a room at the hotel 😮💨 This turned out to be one of the few rooms we couldn’t finish. But we believe that with the right game master, the experience could be much more immersive. It’s not the best choice for those just starting out in the world of escape rooms. For teams with some experience who enjoy a few scares, it’s worth it. We’re trying to forget all about it so we can go back 😂
Livro da MorteEscape WarriorsEscape roomIRLSeptember 1, 2024 - Colinho Escapers Our first escape room was Death Note. We thought it would just be a one-time thing, but well… here we are 🤓. The room is extremely well-maintained and completely true to the theme. The puzzles are simple, but they require that quick thinking that makes us sweat bullets. Even those who’ve never seen the anime, like us 😅, can easily get into the story and play without any issues. The room has a narrative, like most, but so far it’s the only one where that truly matters for the outcome. More experienced teams can enjoy the room more, but even so, it doesn’t stop you from having an extremely fun hour. The game masters are pros, and it shows—they know what they’re doing, and you can tell in every detail.
Haunted DinnerEscape2Win - AlgésEscape roomIRLI was expecting much more. Turned out to be a little underwhelming, much more if you have in consideration all the other rooms that Escape2win has designed.
School of MagicGame Over Escape Rooms - Santa ClaraEscape roomIRL12/15/2024 - Colinho Escapers The School of Magic was the first room in the Harry Potter magical world that we ventured into. We had high expectations, especially since we have some die-hard Hogwarts fans on the team ⚡. We can’t say we left disappointed, but for us, within the theme, it wasn’t our favorite. It’s a perfectly playable room even for those unfamiliar with the Harry Potter universe. There’s a particularly difficult puzzle, typical of Game Over rooms 🤓, that seems designed to leave us “stuck” there and spend a few more minutes in the room 😮💨. We also had a mechanism that malfunctioned a bit, but even so, it’s a good room for anyone who wants to try it out and experience a little bit of this magical universe 🏰✨ You won’t regret it!
Lost City of AtlantisGame Over Escape Rooms - Santa ClaraEscape roomIRL12/15/2024 - Colinho Escapers At Atlantis, we started with a “wow” 😲 and ended up with the trident in our hands 🔱 The room is very well-balanced, with interesting puzzles and a super creative and unexpected transition moment 💧 Communication is really the key here, so talk, share, and coordinate your dive well. We got a little extra help at some points, which we didn’t think was necessary, but it was still a very fun and well-executed experience. A great room for anyone who wants to dive into the world of escape rooms! Pun intended 😅
The Eight-Legged Ritual [prev. The Jorōgumo's Web]JikaiEscape roomIRLThe first escape room we played at Jikai. There's no point in ringing the bell before your scheduled time. You'll be allowed in at that exact time. Forget the traditional escape room intro you usually get in Lisbon—it's done differently here, and without spoiling anything, we thought it was really cool. As for the escape room itself, we really enjoyed doing it, and it was a pleasant surprise since the reviews were so mixed and we didn't know what to expect. At the end, we found out they had upgraded the room after it opened and changed its name. The room keeps a constant tension in the air as you progress, and the lighting plays a big part in creating that atmosphere. There were moments that surprised us, including a super fun one where we had to go into hunter mode 🔫. The way some of the puzzles are solved is quite unique, leaving us with a classic "Ah, okay, so that's what it is!" 😯 moment. It features a few puzzles that require deeper thinking and some experience. Overall, we found it to be a very complete and really cool room to do. In the end, we managed to rescue the investigator with a time that landed us in the Top 3 🧠.
Feira Popular [The Great Fair]Escape Hunt - LisbonEscape roomIRLWe were really curious about this room because of the theme, and honestly, it doesn't disappoint. The first space captivated us right from the start, with several tasks to complete that were different from the usual and much more like carnival games. The decor is completely on theme, and prepare yourselves to see yourselves multiplied many times over. The puzzles aren't very difficult, but they are super cool to do. We rescued the heart of the fair and brought back its color and excitement.
Wizard School: The TournamentMission To Escape - LisbonEscape roomIRLWe saved what is supposedly the hardest room at MTE Lisbon for last. The spaces in the room make complete sense within the theme "The Tournament"—at least for those who followed the HP saga. The puzzles actually have a logical sequence, which at times we weren't able to follow. At the end, there is a very difficult puzzle, not because it requires a high IQ, but because the setup isn't the best. We finished the room without completing all the puzzles because we managed to solve one without finishing a previous one. Even so, we asked to keep working on the puzzle we skipped. A shout-out to the game master for these two rooms, who was perhaps the best one we've had at MTE.
The CurseMission To Escape - LisbonEscape roomIRLWe went to finish the MTE rooms, the first of the last ones was the most spooky. Starting with the most negative, a mechanism wasn't working and they didn't warn us before the game started, nor during it, meaning we ended up spending some time stuck on it for nothing.🫤 The final puzzle requires persistence to solve because the mechanism isn't fully calibrated.😕 We thought that, within what MTE offers, the room is well decorated for the theme it has. The puzzles in the first room make some sense and there are a few small jump scares. It's not amazing, it's not terrible, it clearly had potential for more.
