Midnight ManorBamboozled Escape GamesEscape roomIRLReally enjoyed this room, not really hard for advanced players but really liked it non the less. Pretty decors and some fun puzzles and a surprisingly very enjoyable gimmick/game ( trying not to spoil it!) Nice flow to the game and never really had any problem progressing. Overall really recommend this room!
Alien OdysseyBamboozled Escape GamesEscape roomIRLOuff.. Wish i had read the reviews before doing it or the company should advertise it as family/ kids game, advertising it as a medium/hard is almost a lie. Veeeery easy and linear ( very boring). Really good room tho, beautiful atmosphere but the puzzles are kids or even baby level. Great for little kids but dont be 6 in the room since most of the puzzles are doable alone or by two person ( luckily we were only 3). So yea, Beautiful game but stay away from it if you are an adult or even a little bit experienced.
Warden's CabinEureka Banff Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLSorry there will be light spoilers for the use of proof and exemples. Run away from this game and this company, you will only regret putting almost 90$ in it ( we were two). I Believe this is THE worst escape game i have ever done even tho i've seen tiny one room closet sized escape games with almost zero budget. The reason for my harsh review is the puzzles. They have to be the most badly executed puzzles i've ever seen, they are excruciating to do and almost impossible considering the fact that you need outside knowledge : - how to play chess - knowing the difference between the sound of a moose, an elk,a wapiti and a deer, and also their shadows - knowing what maple smells like ( no not the syrup...... the tree.) and the difference with a tea tree ( what even is that) Clearly this is a tourist trap but at the same time it has the most incoherent and hardest puzzles i've ever seen, no wonder " the majority of players dont get to the second room" - The GM. The gm, who by the way is lacking formation and knowledge on the game ( they said they dont even understand one of the puzzle after i asked some explanations), looked like they had no envy of being there and to be honest, towards the end, i'm not sure who wanted to leave more, us or them. The owner clearly doesn't care and doesn't invest in the game to keep it running smoothly. The decors are not that bad but the nonsense of the puzzles and the vibe of the whole place makes it a disastrous escape game. I could honestly write a whole essay about everything that is wrong about the game ( puzzles that break the rules of escape games, puzzles that are harder to do because they are old and not kept in good condition, broken and unusable puzzle tools) but i'll leave it at that. Just dont do it, save your money. ps: Buy a new dry-erase marker, its not expensive, you can get a pack of 12 for 5$ at the dollorama that is literally across the street.
Haunted HallExit - CalgaryEscape roomIRLBeautifully built game, the atmosphere is perfect, the rooms feels full of life and are well built. Since its a horror teamed room the puzzles are somewhat simple in my opinion ( could be a challenge for beginners) but they are still a nice challenge and are fun to do. The only negative thing in my opinion is the ending which feels a little bit rushed in terms of decors and the integration of the puzzles just doesnt blend in. It also doesn't really make sense overall ( or maybe i just didnt understand it). All and all, a fabulous game ( in which we hold the record for time with no clues) that i would gladly recommend and would classify as the best game from this company.
Ops CognitionEscape OpsEscape roomIRLExcellent room and again great puzzles. The creativity in their puzzles amaze me and they clearly no what they are doing, A+++. The set design is pretty and well done but maybe empty at times? Not my favorite room from this company but a good contender still. Overall had some fun ( especially with the extra puzzles, one of the greatest thing in an escape game i have seen)
Dynamic DuoEscape OpsEscape roomIRLFun little game, again, the puzzles are fun to do and easily understandable, nothing that will make you feel angry at it afterwards. Nice game for beginners and if you want to introduce your kid to the escape game world. Like it says on the website it is a really good challenge/practice for communication/teamwork for you and your partner/friend/family. Of course its not the set design of the century and may be seen as cheap for some people but the puzzles really makes up for everything. Ps: If you have a lot of experience you'll find this game very easy.
ShrineEscape OpsEscape roomIRLA Great game, loved the puzzles ( and the extra ones if you finish with a lot of time left). The Room itself could have been more " shriny" Maybe some cobblestone wall papers or anything else to make you feel like you are in a Zelda Temple. Loved the little references here and there without being an handicap to someone who knows nothing from the world of zelda. The Puzzles are really the #1 thing in this room and this company as well. They are well thought, fonctional, Hard but easy to understand, they flow very well and each puzzle really rewarding when completed. I Would 100% recommend this company and this room. I would like to say its the best one they have but i sadly didnt do Hyperspace so either #1 or #2.
The WoodsmanEscape City - CalgaryEscape roomIRLWow, wow, wow, what a great game. One of the best in Calgary if not THE best. The puzzles are amazing, they are original, well thought and fun to do. The set design is beautifully made for just a cabin. The intro is well done and the story makes sense with the puzzles. You really get a high tier escape game for the price. I highly recommend this game and this company. This game should have a lot more ❤️ ratings imo.
Secret Of The S.S. Allami - CLOSEDArcadia Adventures Escape RoomEscape roomIRLIf i could give a horizontal thumb i would, aka a mixed feeling of not bad but not as good as their other games. The puzzles, in this case, are really the thing that holds this game together. The atmosphere is missing a little bit of immersion compared to what i've seen them do with their other games. The goal/theme of the game is nothing new but is well executed. Like i said, the puzzles are the thing holding together the game and giving me this mixed review because they are good and well thought like most of their puzzles in their other games. So would i recommend this game? Yes for beginners and semi-intermediate ( less then 20 games), but for advanced players looking for an all-around game, i would recommend their other games.
A Golden AcquisitionArcadia Adventures Escape RoomEscape roomIRLTwo words, Good Game. Thats all you need to know. If its your first time ever or first time with this company and you wanne play it safe, this is the game for you. If you want good challenging puzzles that are made for everyone and not just escape game fanatics, this is the game for you. You want well done decors without being overly over the top, this is the game for you. You want a classic theme that is well executed, this is the game for you. In conclusion you're looking for the best bang for your buck, thats the game for you.
Ye Olde Horrible DungeonArcadia Adventures Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis is the second game we did after dollhouse and it was not a disappointment. A good size room that was well used with fun puzzles. I found this game challenging and would recommend to people who has done 20+ rooms. Thank you to the gm and staff who were amazing again.
DollhouseArcadia Adventures Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWhat a great first impression and experience this was. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They were one of the many reason we came back to play all of the other games. The game itself was good, small room but extremely well used. The flow of the game is very good (we did the third best time, our team name is Schnappi). The puzzles were fun to do and were a good difficulty ( not too hard, not too easy) which for us is really important so we still have a feeling of satisfaction and pride. For those reason i fully recommend this company and this game, it can be enjoyed by either begginers for a good challenge and advanced players for a pleasant gameplay.
Retour Sur L'affaire Cadavera prev. L'affaire Cadavera [Return to the Cadavera Case prev. The Cadaver Case]EzkapazEscape roomIRL(I'm an Ezkapaz employee) I just played the "V2" version of the Cadavera case, and my rating has changed, as has my opinion of the game. It used to be a blue thumb, and now it's a yellow thumb. The game hasn't changed much, but the updates make a big difference in my opinion. New, more up-to-date puzzles that enhance the room, as well as a clearer story and objective that I really love. If you’ve already played the game before, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend coming back to play the room again, especially since more than half the puzzles are the same. However, if you’ve never played this room before, I highly recommend it. Good gameplay, good puzzles, and a concept that, surprisingly, you don’t see very often—at least not in this form. 6/10
Royaume des Contes: Le Défi EnchantéLa Zone Plus SherbrookeEscape roomIRL"Completed" in 1 hour and 30 minutes in 2-player expert mode. Great concept—I highly recommend it for any type of player, since the game "adapts" to your skill level.
Le Maudit MagasinLa Zone Plus SherbrookeEscape roomIRLA great game for Rick and Morty fans, with interesting puzzles—though unfortunately there were a few bugs and some unclear puzzles. Overall, a great game; I highly recommend this company.
Vampire: La Crypte DamnéeLa Zone Plus SherbrookeEscape roomIRLA classic concept, but well executed. The puzzles are enjoyable, and the game flows smoothly.
Au Secours De Jacky Le Pain D’épice [Help Jacky the Gingerbread]La clef de l'Énigme - BouchervilleEscape roomIRLIt's a really fun game for kids, though. I recommend it for anyone looking to go on an escape room adventure with their children ages 7 and up.
JurassikLa clef de l'Énigme - BouchervilleEscape roomIRLVery disappointing. The visuals are stunning—the best I've seen in a puzzle game—but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. There are way too many puzzles designed to waste your time. We wasted a good 30 minutes in total fumbling with puzzles where we already knew the answer or how to solve them, but couldn’t complete them simply because they were designed to waste time (aka the maze). Also, personally, a game that relies on search-and-find mechanics lacks originality and seems to be designed solely to pad out the 1-hour playtime.
Le Coeur De Davy JonesL'intrigue - Jeu d'évasion Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA large, well-decorated room, but it felt like something we’d seen before. The puzzles were original overall, but some lacked clarity and the connections between them were a bit vague. The biggest downside was unfortunately the GM, who was terrible. I gathered he was new, but he still needs a lot of learning and training. He gave way too many hints, even though he had asked us before the game, “How many escape rooms have you done?” (The group average was 130). Giving unnecessary clues after just 1 minute or less on a puzzle is unacceptable and ruins the experience. I want to point out that we finished the room with about 20 minutes left, and he continued to give us unsolicited clues right up until the very end, demonstrating a poor understanding of how the room is supposed to unfold within the allotted time.
La Chambre des SecretsL'intrigue - Jeu d'évasion Escape RoomEscape roomIRLCompared to all the other Harry Potter-themed rooms, this one ranks at the bottom in my opinion. One positive aspect of the room is the use of various spells to enhance and interact with the environment. The decor lacks a bit of care and originality. As is often the case in rooms that require magic, the connections between the puzzles and the next stage are sometimes unclear. We had the same GM as in the Davy Jones room again, so we received a lot of unsolicited help, which didn’t leave us any time to experiment with spells. Every time we tried something, he immediately told us it wasn’t the right answer, not allowing us to use trial and error. We felt like we were being led by the hand, but since we’ve played an average of 130 games, this ruined our experience.
