Quest For The Temple of LightThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRL9.4/10 First things first, if you haven’t had the chance to play Quest for the Temple of Light, find time to go play it. This room has the greatest start to a game we have ever experienced and don’t get us started with the set. We walked in to one of the rooms asking, “Is this the Disney World of escape rooms?” For the set design and immersion alone, Quest for the Temple of Light makes our top 5 rooms ever played as of writing this in February 2026. With an absolutely amazing set, we wished the puzzle design was just as grand but we felt like that’s where this room fell a bit short. The flow from room to room didn’t really make sense, especially to the overarching story, which left us a bit confused as well. The name of the room is the Quest for the Temple of Light, but we didn’t even capture this light in a temple. Speaking with each other afterwards, we agreed that as their first room, Keepers of Balance were showing everyone what they are capable of with their sets by adding all these different types of rooms, we just wish it was advertised as that because it would have made more sense to the story. Overall, these are just little knit picks because this room was amazing. By far the greatest and most beautifully designed room we ever played. From the moment we stepped in the door we were instantly captivated and that’s what we all hope for when playing an escape room. We will be back, no doubt about it, to play Defenders of the Sunken Realm and their newest game coming out soon.
Storyteller's SecretBoxarooEscape roomIRL8.7/10 After traveling several miles to get to Boxaroo in Boston and try Storyteller’s Secret, we can definitely assure you it was worth it. The set itself was extraordinary and really immersed you into the author’s world. This had to be one of the best “non-escape” rooms we have been a part of, with puzzles galore and a plot that lasted over an hour without becoming boring. We personally thought the intro video and hint system really stood out (even though we didn’t need to use many hints). Our only hiccup with the room was the repetition of using and doing the same puzzles (and some technical difficulties with a specific puzzle). We wish they could have added a new layer of something, instead of having to go back to repeat what we just did. Otherwise, between the storyline, design, and gameplay, this room rightfully earned itself a rating of 8.7 on our scale.

Crane ManorClue IQEscape roomIRL8.9/10 WOW!! This was the first room we’ve done that was over 60 minutes and we were not disappointed at all. ClueIQ were able to fit so many different and unique puzzles in the room, that worked well with the theme. I feel that the atmosphere of the “manor” really drove this room forward and kept us on our toes the whole time. Really fun room and would highly recommend! (We can’t wait to do their other rooms)
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRL9.3/10 Wow! This was an absolute adventure from beginning to end. The room was one of, if not, the most well designed rooms that I have ever played in. You are fully immersed in the story the moment you step into the room. All I can say is wow and that this is a must do room!
WreckedMasterpiece EscapesEscape roomIRL9.2/10 No pun intended, but Wrecked was a masterpiece. The unique setting of the room and story were great, but what really stood out for us was the puzzle design and flow. The puzzles were unique and fit each part of the story so well. The complexity of the puzzles in the room added to the experience and was a highlight for us. There was one puzzle in particular that had so many different parts to it before we ended up getting the code we needed. This is a puzzler’s dream and we absolutely loved it. The incoming storm element was also done very well and really added to the immersion. We wouldn’t say this room was scary, but it was definitely spooky and this storm really added to that spooky feeling. We got to speak with one of the owners, Joseph, throughout our time playing 2 of their rooms and he was beyond great! He opened up early to be able to accommodate us and we couldn’t be more grateful. Masterpiece is in greats hands and we cannot wait to return to see what they have up their sleeves.
The Campground13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRL9.3/10 The big 100 and we couldn’t have been happier with choosing The Campground as our 100th room done together. Let’s make this nice and clear, this is a room made for enthusiasts. The amount of puzzles and immersive elements in here make it something enthusiasts will truly enjoy and respect. This is a 90-minute experience and has every right to be this length because of how much there is to unfold. We did escape with a little over 15 minutes to spare, but after speaking with Brandon and Gabe, who helped create the room, it’s very rare for a duo to finish with that much time left. I know a lot of the reviews say come with a larger group, but if you and your partner have done a bunch of escape rooms you guys definitely got this! All the puzzles made sense and flowed super well. There were no leaps in logic and the room was not very search heavy at all which is always a plus for us. We enjoyed the story of the room very much! The moment you meet your game master is the moment the room starts and it definitely took us by surprise (in a good way). The puzzles, environment, and music all made sense and connected with the overall story. And to top it all off there was a satisfying and unique end to the room! A minor spoiler if you have not played the room….. Yes, there is fake snow that does fall as you progress into the room, and as other reviews have mentioned it did cause us to cough and burn our breathing even after the game finished. Thankfully, as soon as we did begin to cough a bit, they did immediately stop the snow fall. I do wish that this can be solved because the snow does add a very immersive and unique element to the game. Overall, if you are an enthusiast, do yourself a favor and get out to play the Campground. 13th Hour once again hits it out of the park here and solidifies why they are the best company in the area. This is a MUST DO room!!!
Cativeiro - O "Jogo" [Captivity - The "Game"]D3 Escape Room - Praça do MarquêsEscape roomIRL9.1/10 What an experience! The immersion and storytelling the moment you knock on the door is some of the best we have ever seen in an escape room. A lot of that comes down to our game master/designer of the room, Neto. We hope you all can have him because he made the experience that much better! The storytelling and adventure we were taken on throughout the room is what really stood out for us. The puzzles themselves we thought were pretty straightforward and not too challenging! If you are ever in Porto, make sure you come out and play Captivity - the “Game!”
The Body ShopRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRL9.3/10 What a game, what a story! The two biggest things we look for in escape rooms are immersion and puzzle flow/design. When a room can fully immerse us with such awesome and unique puzzles, while creating such a unique and memorable story, then you are in for a truly unbelievable experience. And that is exactly what we felt after playing The Body Shop. The level of detail put into this room is some of the best we’ve seen. The puzzles were unique to the story and just made sense! The flow from puzzle to puzzle slowly uncovers more and more of the story, and is done in such a clever way where after finally putting all the pieces I remember saying, “Oh my gosh…. This is crazy.” The twist comes out of no where, but the buildup was done so perfectly that it all made sense. This room had just about everything. The laughs, the scares, the “WOW” moments, and everything in between. Easily one of the best rooms we’ve ever done and would consider this a MUST DO room!
UndergroundEscape2Win Lumiar - UndergroundEscape roomIRL8.9/10 During our vacation to Portugal, our goal was to play the country’s top-rated escape rooms we hadn’t experienced yet. To start us off, we had to play THE highest ranked room in Portugal, Underground. To no surprise, this room was an absolute thrill ride from the moment we knocked on the door. Our gamemaster, Andre, is what made this experience truly special. The amount of work he put in throughout the game made it really feel like we were in a thriller/action-packed movie. There are some moments in this game that we will never forget about. The one downside of this game was the lack of puzzle variety. We wish there were more puzzles to solve throughout the game. Overall, there is a reason why this is ranked Portugal’s top room and if you are ever in this beautiful country, make Underground a must stop!
SOSEscape Boats - DublinEscape roomIRL9/10 After 65 rooms, this might be the most immersive game we have done so far. Completely submerging ourselves in a boat really enhances the experience. Being agile is very important as the boat is on the smaller side. The puzzles in the room were fairly linear but all went well with the story and nothing seemed out of place. The ending and final room is something we will probably never forget! We were treated great by our GM and are hoping to come back soon to try their other room with friends. If you are in Dublin, make Escape Boats your number 1 escape room destination! (You can check out our full review in our blog. Link in my profile.
