DystopiaIn The ZoneEscape roomIRLA very enjoyable room with a fantastic host! A genius, unorthodox and impressive use of building space for an escape room that fits perfectly with the story. Our group struggled to find specific puzzle pieces we needed but when reminded to look out for specific markers made perfect sense. Normally I am not a fan of rooms where I have to search for the puzzle and then solve it, this was incredibly enjoyable and I highly recommend it. The host goes above and beyond to help you get the most out of your experience!
The HeistEscape DevonportEscape roomIRLA room with a lot of potential however we did not get the best experience on the day. At first we were told our GM only knew of our booking when arriving 5 mins before our start time, despite booking weeks in advance. Greeted and introduced to the room very well. On entering the room unbeknownst to us a white board hadn’t been cleared which held two codes to some puzzles that inadvertently made us skip past three puzzles. The GM was very apologetic that the board had been missed and not cleared properly and gave us some extra time to go back and work those puzzles out for ourselves which was greatly appreciated. Despite getting to the end puzzle with 20mins to spare, we struggled greatly with the safe. Despite working out the safe code we found it too difficult to open despite all four of us having multiple attempts. When we ran out of time the GM for the day tried to have a go to show us the safe did indeed open however he could not even do it. So I feel the safes combination probably too tricky. Despite these mishaps I felt the room, had it been set up correctly and the final puzzle not so unforgiving would have made for an excellent experience, it’s just not what we got on the day unfortunately.
