The BoogeymanGatlin's Escape Games - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLSuch a fun and unique room! This company does it so well, and this room especially felt like none I had ever done before. I would say it is best for about 4 players at most because some spaces can feel a little tight. Spooky moments, and definitely transports you back into a time when you were afraid of The Boogeyman and what might be lurking in the deepest depths of your closet!

The Kon of Kohinoor - A Mission ImpossibleMystery Rooms - Phoenix MarketcityEscape roomIRLThe second room we’ve played at this location, and I think it was better than the other. Lots of physical ability needed for this room from crawling to climbing up and down, and a bit of flexibility too. Most of the puzzles made sense aside from one, that with trial and error we solved. Good fun, but make sure you don’t get ahead of yourself in this room, otherwise it will lead to your demise!

There was very loose theming, and very little that tied the puzzles to what the theme should have been. I had a good time in the room, and would say it’s a better room than most in Kuala Lumpur, but I was still left wanting more.

But there were some puzzles that really made no sense and took you way outside of the game/theme. They also had some really cool possible surprises that they absolutely missed the chance to turn into something great. Also without spoiling it, there was one answer that I can’t support how it was used. This company has a lot of rooms, but I can’t say that any of them have wowed me, with a few of them having puzzles that truly no one would get without a hint.
Murder Mystery - The Locker Room SceneThe Ultimate Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis room was hit and miss every other puzzle. It either made sense and flowed well, or was a huge jump in logic. One of the puzzles was broken in the room and another looked broken, so we were afraid to touch it until we asked for a clue on it. (I guess that’s our bad, but I do think they could definitely rework it). Also This rooms storyline does not really tie in with the theme that you actually find in the room. And the puzzles all seem random and trivial rather than enhancing the game play.
Project EurekaPartyBox 360Escape roomIRLThe first half of this room was pretty easy, but then once you get to the last room it takes a swift turn. I will say, this room had barely anything to do with a robot/AI. The puzzles are so random and never enhance the storyline and for that I was very unimpressed, and hope they definitely find a more interesting way to tell this story.
Mr Oswald’s Greatest ShowBreakout Avenue KEscape roomIRLThis was a decent game. Breakout is very specific with their game play where they direct you to which puzzle to work on first, but the 45 minute time constraint is definitely why their rooms are so tough. None of the puzzles themself are particularly difficult, there just really isn’t enough time to think through possibilities. The theming was definitely different and refreshing, but I would definitely love to see the room get some updating to the game play. Overall I do recommend this, as it was probably my favorite I’ve played in Kuala Lumpur.

I will give them props for one puzzle/some equipment they had in the room that I’ve never seen before. Was able to open one luck with a random guess though. Also, the room was not scary in the slightest, which was a let down.

I enjoyed it, but was just very underwhelmed by the whole thing and left wanting more (especially from such a good thematic idea). They have a lot of rooms though, so if you want to marathon, I would recommend just plowing through them all.

CerebrumBreakout Avenue KEscape roomIRLI’m still confused by this room. Very minimal set, and hard to follow/connect puzzles. You are split up most of the game as well. The Game Master was very friendly and helpful, tbh, I’ve never used so many hints in my life. I also wish they would have told the storyline at the beginning, because it would have helped connect the room better. Best advice for this room: communicate EVERYTHING you see!
Murder On The Singapore ExpressCaptivate Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLBetter than the other room I played here, but unfortunately it just wasn’t good. Very low budget; with semi-confusing puzzles due to the low budget. They are fairly cheap, and I still had a good time because of my friend, but it was unfortunate that this was her first experience with an Escape Room. I know that they have stated other rooms being updated/revamped on their Google Reviews, so maybe those are worth a try.

It was such a huge disappointment. The storyline also did not actually make sense/follow through to the end. Hopefully you can find a better company in the Singapore area, because I can not recommend this place.
Sherlock StudiesThe Escape EffectEscape roomIRLThis was such a fun room, and another well themed edition to Escape Effect’s line-up. Be prepared to read a lot though, so I highly suggest communicating everything you see. This is probably my favorite room here so far.
CSI: Suburban Serial KillerThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLDefinitely harder than I thought this room would be. We were literally down to the last minute in here and on edge the entire time. Interesting room that definitely has lots of surprises along with scares.
