Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLMan I’m sorely disappointed. I did the evil robot game when they first opened and it was amazing. I thought I was in for a good experience with mogollon monster. I even paid a premium of $180 for 2 people so I’m sick to my stomach by my experience. The game itself was ok but my experience was pretty much ruined because of the game masters constant nudging and clue giving. I really do appreciate when the game master pushes us along so we complete the story. But I really don’t appreciate it when I don’t feel like I solved a single puzzle bc the game master pretty much told us all the answers. That sense of accomplishment and surprise felt like it was taken away. I’m really saddened by this experience bc I’ve spoken so highly of it to many enthusiasts and have constantly promoted nemesis club. I think nemesis club needs to do some retraining bc at $180 for 2 people, I do expect a higher level of game play.
The Bridge BetweenQuest TavernEscape roomIRLReally great room! Love the ending. LOTs of things to do which is great for a bigger team. Good hint system. Would recommend for enthusiasts.
The Pharaoh's Lost RelicHour to MidnightEscape roomIRLThis was a really solid room! Its one I’d recommend enthusiast to do but its not a omg top 10 must do kinda room. It’s hard to be wow when you’ve done a lot. With that said, it was really enjoyable and the puzzles were fun. I thought the gm did a great job giving out hints. She stayed in character and gave hints that felt immersive and nudged us in the right direction without directly giving it away. The room was medium difficulty and we completed it with a group of 4. Id go back to do the other rooms.
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLHatch escapes never disappoints. When you have done so many rooms, it’s hard to be impressed but I’d say this room is in my top 5. This was the shortest 90 mins of my life! The Ladder is wayyyy too advanced for its time. It’s not really your traditional lock and key escape room. Rooms will follow in their footsteps. HIGHLY recommend for all enthusiast. I would not recommend this for a first time escape roomer. The mechanics were incredible, the puzzles were novel, and the sheer # of games/puzzles were crazy. It’s worth the $85 pp.
Grim Stacks: Books & BindingPuzzle Effect - PhoenixEscape roomIRLThis game is ok for newcomers but definitely not at the level for enthusiasts. A lot of the puzzles didn’t quite make sense but overall I still had fun.
