Dragon's QuestAlcatraz Escape Games [prev. Escape Utah - Castle of Chaos]Escape roomIRLThis room is pretty dam cool. It’s also MASSIVE. Don’t let the size of it overwhelm you. It’s very doable. This would be great to do with a larger group, but I think 5-6 is perfect. Great design, immersive, fun puzzles, definitely give this one a go. I’m very excited for the future of this place. They have made huge leaps and bounds with their rooms.
Haunted HouseEscapology - Salt Lake City, Gateway UTEscape roomIRLThis one surprised me. I’m pretty critical of Haunted House themed rooms, but we really enjoyed this one. There were a couple puzzles I wasn’t expecting that were very clever and interactive. So far, our favorite one here.
Davy Jones’ LockerExit 4 Escape Rooms - West JordanEscape roomIRLHonestly, this place is solid. One of the reviews really makes it seem like it’s total garbage and it’s not. It’s clean, well made, and they have some layers to their puzzles. This was the same. Great for small groups.
Digging for DiamondsEscape Utah - Sandy [prev. Enigma Escape Experience]Escape roomIRLThis room is kind of a recovery project. The room that was here before was damaged due to a leak in the building. They replaced it with a dream and $500. It’s definitely not fancy, but I was impressed with what they did. We enjoyed the room, pretty standard, but a couple clever puzzles.
The NeighborSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLThis had some pretty cool tech elements that were fun to interact with. A lot of space, which was nice. I would recommend this room if you’re in the area.
Black and White CafeMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLTo me, this is what escape rooms are ALL about. True creativity and passion here. Not ridiculously expensive, and a lot of love in design. So many clever puzzles and was an absolute joy.
The Family CabinQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI thought this room was super cute. Another room that embodies the spirit of escape rooms to me. Clever puzzles and passion. The throwback of it all was really fun to be in as well. I would recommend this to anyone.
BeWitchedLara’s Labyrinth - San Diego [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLWe tried this room because the reviews say it’s not structured like most rooms, and they were right. Put any expectation to the side and just have a good time. It’s quite silly and has live interactions. Some people won’t vibe with this style, and I can’t say we would do it often, but its great for those who might like role play situations
Heart Of Bastet [prev. Red Giant]Lara’s Labyrinth - San Diego [prev. Quest Room]Escape roomIRLI’d recommend this room to anyone. It has some really cool elements and it’s well made. However, there were a couple things that didn’t work properly for us, and that really diminished the immersion. Still had a great time.
There's Gnome Place Like HomeAlcatraz Escape Games [prev. Escape Utah - Castle of Chaos]Escape roomIRLThis room was so cute with quite an original storyline. This place has really come a long way. Aside from one puzzle, the puzzles were creative and made sense with the theme and storyline. We had a good time. My one complaint is the AI art on the wall. Not cool.
Sherlock Holmes and the Doomsday DeviceLabyrinth Escape Games - NampaEscape roomIRLThis place did just as good as it always does. A common theme with a twist that made it original and fun. Love it here.
Jungle AdventureEscape This BoiseEscape roomIRLThis is more of a home grown single room escape experience, but they make good use of the space and there are a few clever puzzles. Quite a few locks, but still fun room to complete.
Scooby-Doo™ and the Spooky Castle AdventureEscapology - Salt Lake City, Gateway UTEscape roomIRLThe theme was fun and nostalgic, however, I found the set up of it all a bit random. It also felt like a lot of screens for what was necessary. We enjoyed ourselves still.
Lost CityEscapology - Salt Lake City, Gateway UTEscape roomIRLWe were hesitant about this room because of a previous review, but we really enjoyed this room. Fun puzzles, even a couple tricky one, but nothing you can’t handle. I’d suggest it to anyone.
A Pirate's CurseEscapology - Salt Lake City, Gateway UTEscape roomIRLThis company had come a long way! We’ve done rooms with them when they first opened, and these are a much better improvement. This would be a great room for first timers. Nothing super complex, but still a lot fun.
Who Stole Mona?Escapology - Salt Lake City, Gateway UTEscape roomIRLA little more challenging, but a good room. One element of the room towards the end was really fun. I did think the room felt a little bare, but it’s a museum, so it makes sense.
Video ValhallaExit 4 Escape Rooms - West JordanEscape roomIRLThis room kicked out bazookas! …But in a good way. Idk if we were overthinking things, but it was challenging. Loved the theme and it had some really fun elements to it. The room is linear so keep that in mind, but it was fun and very doable.
Ruins: Forbidden TreasureThe Escape Game - MurrayEscape roomIRLWe loved this room. We loved how it started, and we found the interactive element to a lot of their puzzles super fun. This place always does such a good job. One thing that stuck out to me was the use of locks. They made sense to the experience and weren’t just used for the sake of a puzzle.
Three Suns CantinaExit 4 Escape Rooms - West JordanEscape roomIRLUnique theme, fun to do, GREAT for small groups. This is a solid place to go. I would recommend them. If you love Star Wars, book a time.
Rogue's CoveEscape Hour - VineyardEscape roomIRLI have mixed feelings about this place. Overall, the owners are so very kind and passionate about what they do, so I appreciate them for that alone. However, be careful in how you approach criticizing the company. Before they even opened, I tried to express concerns about their pricing over Google, but Google reviews were locked even though they had already had a couple 5 star reviews. This didn’t feel good to me, so I took my concerns to this app. I was immediately met by harsh comments from a discord group of fans. One of these members even went as far to look me up online and include information about me. It was a lot. However, the owners put an immediate stop to it. They were so gracious in reaching out to me, hearing my concerns, and addressing the whole situation. I don’t love that they have a fan base so willing to pounce on anyone who disagrees, but in my experience, they don’t reflect the owners of this who clearly care about who they are and what they do. As far as the room goes, it’s very well themed and has some cool cinematic moments. Overall we had a decent time. We did leave feeling like we were rushed through the experience, and there were a couple puzzles I think could use a little more fine tuning.
