Inventor's ParadoxEnter the ImaginariumEscape roomIRLThis was the definition of “fine.” The puzzles we got to do were mostly good, but they didn’t reset 2 of the puzzles. FOR OTHERS PLAYING: We walked into a dark room and rang the bell it said to ring, we did not hear from anyone for 4 minutes and then it was just a voice saying go to the next room and put our stuff down and scan the QR code if we hadn’t yet. Then there was no instruction in the next room, no like “just hang out til we call you,” or if there was in the announcement in the first room we had already walked into the second room because they unlocked the door. So we sat around wondering if the game had already begun for 10 minutes. Total immersion is fine… but like, put that in the email. “When you get there you’ll be greeted when we’re ready, so show up basically right on time, not early.” We arrived early and had tried to call ahead 3 times to say we wanted to bring another person but no one answered. There’s also no reception area so we got a free extra player even though we tried our best to pay, there was no non-game interaction with a human and that was maybe a total of 2 minutes.
Mission Control: Apollo 18Royal Caribbean - Oasis of the Seas ShipEscape roomIRLWhile not the greatest escape room in the world, this room had enough that it was fun, engaging, and entertaining. HOWEVER there’s a 6 person minimum and 10 max, and they will try their best to fill it with 10, so there is not enough to do and rooms with strangers are always the worst. Without that this would be a heart, instead it’s a thumbs up
The Crying CactusDaytona Escape Room ExperienceEscape roomIRLSad they used AI video instead of a human. Fun room overall, the 75 minute time was really more of a product of two disparate area and the first area being a bit disjointed. Still, good time and would recommend EXCEPT I hate that AI video was used in the room multiple times. Hire a real person, use a worker if you can’t afford an actor, but PAY a person don’t replace with AI.
