Jungle Game4 Dreams Escape - BellevueEscape roomIRLWe were the first official customers which meant that there were a few small things still getting worked out, but it also meant that the customer support was fantastic and welcoming-and the GM so clearly wanted to give us the best experience possible. The game theme itself was lots of fun-with a couple of unique puzzles that were unlike things we'd done before. As a team of 2 we didn't escape, but we came really close and our GM was so considerate in making sure that we had hints if we wanted them without providing more information than we wanted. He was great at walking the line. We will absolutely come back and do the other rooms when they open.
Lost CityEscapology - LynnwoodEscape roomIRLIt was a good room and we escaped as a group of 2 (1 adult and a child) but as usual in the rooms here the clue system can be frustrating as they aren't always specific to the situation e.g. suggesting you check how you're inputting the code when you've already opened the lock. This feedback is really across the board-it feels like there is a preset list of hints and they sometimes don't address the questions or sometimes just give you the answer when you don't want that much help.
CraftedConundroom - Willows BPEscape roomIRLWe did this with our then 9 year old daughter who is really into Minecraft. She liked the room and our GM was great but as others have mentioned the room was pretty beat up and, as with many of the puzzles at Conundrum, there was a lot of emphasis on memorization to solve puzzles. Not everyone will find this frustrating but it's something that always eats into our time and feels overly complicated and less about problem solving than the ability to remember sequences-which we all struggle with.
The 4 Dreams4 DreamsEscape roomIRLReally unique concept that it took us awhile to get into, i.e. in the first 2 rooms we struggled to figure out what to work on but in the 2nd 2 rooms we sort of understood the flow of things and had more fun. The last room was our favorite. Our GM Simon was incredible-so funny and helpful. The only thing I really didn't like about the setup was the fact that to get hints the GM actually needs to come into the room-I think it would be less distracting to gameplay to have a speaker system or even a walkie talkie.
Ice WalkerFlee: The Ultimate Real Life Escape GameEscape roomIRLCustomer service was great-really friendly and helpful, so I feel bad leaving a less than positive review. To start with, generally, I dislike the only 3 hints rule assuming that the team is not trying to get on a leaderboard-so this is an across the board observation, something that I wish was mentioned on the website that we would have known prior to booking. As for the room itself-it was beautifully set up, great atmosphere but as others have said puzzles didn't seem to flow together and we never felt quite sure of what to work on-which might have been less of an issue if we'd had unlimited hints.
Evil Dead 2 - CLOSEDHourglass EscapesEscape roomIRLMy 10 year old daughter and I LOVED this room. The decor was great and it's definitely a unique theme that we haven't seen before. I loved the campy horror and my daughter loved the various puzzles-there was always something to do and we never got bored. The owner was our GM and he was fantastic and helpful offering just the right amount of help when we needed it-even though we didn't escape we almost did and we appreciated his walkthrough at the end. We'll be back to do the other rooms. This was definitely one of my top escape room experiences in the Seattle area.
Timeliner: Train Through TimeThe Escape Game - Seattle DowntownEscape roomIRLThis was 1 of 3 escape rooms that my 10 year old daughter and I did on my birthday, and this was her favorite. We loved the theme-it wasn't like anything that we had done before, and there was always something for us to do. We made liberal use of hints but the hints were always just the right amount of information to guide us to come up with solutions on our own. The GM was incredible-and gave us some extra time at the end which is why we were able to escape as a group of 2. They even heard it was my birthday and had a card for me at the end of the game. This was such a great experience from start to finish-highly recommend and we'll be back to play the other rooms.
The ExperimentCognition EscapesEscape roomIRLThis was one of the more unique escape rooms that I've done-not necessarily in terms of the theme but the puzzles themselves. I will say the room was really hard for 2 people-myself and my 10 year old daughter, and we definitely didn't escape but we felt like we got a great mental workout. I love the unique clue system here, and our GM was fantastic-not only giving us a walkthrough at the end but allowing my daughter to actually complete many of the tasks. I highly recommend this room for expert escape artists looking for something a little different.
Escape the Mystic Manor Blue [prev. The Eventide Departure]Puzzle BreakEscape roomIRLMy 10 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this room. The puzzles flowed together well, and some were unlike other puzzles we'd done before. There was an issue with the "clue walkie talkie" when we did the room and that did take a little bit away from the experience (it kept changing to channels where other topics were being discussed) as we'd hear a lot of background noice and sometimes the GM had to come in and adjust it, but this made it so that we asked for very few clues and felt better about our escape. The GM did give us about 3 extra minutes to finish the last puzzle but we still felt very proud of our escape.
The Dark RoomCognition EscapesEscape roomIRLI did this room with my 10-year-old daughter, we went into it knowing both that it would be dark and spooky and also difficult with only two people. Despite not escaping we absolutely loved the room and the experience. The story was fascinating and the way that the game master shares clues and lets you know how much time you have left is so unique and just contributes to the atmosphere. The set was definitely one of the more unique ones that I have been in, I would call it haunting. We especially appreciated the fact that even though we didn't escape our GM walked us through the final puzzles including letting my daughter actually do them. It's so fun to go to places like this where the staff are clearly passionate about what they do. We will definitely come back and do another room.
Grandpa Jim's CabinEscape Goats Escape RoomEscape roomIRLMy 10 year old daughter and I have done more than 30 escape rooms together. Because we're two people, we don't usually expect to escape and while we did not escape this room we were able to get through many of the puzzles and had an amazing time. The setup felt unique, we loved the theme and all of the references to Sasquatch. There is a lot packed into the room, as others have said not all props are actually used in solving puzzles but they definitely add to the atmosphere and we didn't get thrown off too much. Additionally, the owner is such a nice person and was super understanding when we called with a last minute emergency that made us nearly 20 minutes late. We definitely plan to go back and try to finish the room and also do the others. If you're in the Seattle area I definitely recommend taking a side trip to Monroe for this one.
The Lucky Duck Speakeasy - CLOSEDReality Break EscapesEscape roomIRLMy 10 year old daughter and I attempted this escape room as a group of two. We've done a lot of escape rooms together and don't typically expect to escape, and while we did not escape this room either, we had a great time and loved the theme. I loved the blend of puzzle types from logic, e.g. eliminating people from lists, to finding unique ways to find the codes that would open more standard locks. There were just so many puzzles that we could work on at the same time, and so we never got bored. I think if we'd had one more person with us we probably could have escaped but that's okay because we still had a great time. The game master was super friendly as well, giving us hints when we needed them without straight up giving us answers.
Spell StruckThe Escape Artist - West SeattleEscape roomIRLLoved everything about this experience-fun puzzles, great ambience and a great game host who managed to interject with just the right amount of hints when we needed them. We did the puzzle as a group of 2 adults and 1 9-year old. One of the things that I really enjoyed about this is that there were enough puzzles for all of us to be working on things independently, but not so many that we couldn't get through them. The setup was fantastic, it really did feel like we were in an old cabin.
Guardians' GroveSure Lock Escapes – Cypher Island (Renton)Escape roomIRLThis was an absolutely delightful room. In full disclosure we would not have escaped without multiple hints but we technically did escape. My 9 year old daughter and I tried the room first by ourselves, and got about halfway through when our time was up-we rebooked and brought another adult. I think having 4 people would have been an ideal number, but it was doable with 3 and a lot of help. The room is unique-with some kinds of puzzles that I've never seen before and the atmosphere was completely immersive. We really did feel like we were in a rain forest/jungle. Each room in this multi-room experience had new and surprising puzzles, and my 9 year old claims it as her favorite escape room ever. Delightful is really the best way to describe this escape room.
