Escape IT - The SewersEscape ITEscape roomIRLThe game was fun, but too rushed for a proper escape room experience. The set is amazing, and would be better as an immersive experience without escape room puzzles and with other interactive elements instead.
Escape IT - The FunhouseEscape ITEscape roomIRLThey sent us in and we tried to solve puzzles for 15 minutes before we realized the game wasn’t reset and that’s why nothing was happening. There was supposed to be a game host too but she wasn’t there. They had us leave the room and reset it, and then gave us a host, but this wasted 25-30 minutes, and was completely unacceptable. They fixed it, but it’s kind of ridiculous.
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room! It had way more packed into it than we expected. There were a few times we thought it was over, but it kept going!
The Conspiracy of Silicon ValleyBreakout Studios - San JoseEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room! A blast from the past - you start out in a room that looks like a very familiar video rental store :) I wish there were less mechanical locks and more immersion, but it was still worthwhile! I hope to try the other rooms they offer too.
The Mad Scientist [prev. The Laboratory]Brain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room! It was a less modern lock-based room, but I loved the simultaneous puzzle tracks on different rows, and the types of puzzles. In the middle of the game, the mad scientist game in and added the sixth row because we were doing great on time. The game was well-designed and balanced
Black Cat - CLOSEDPlanet Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was a hard room! Very well-designed and very fun… but we got stuck on a puzzle in the first room and lost a lot of time there :(
Lost WoodsPortal Adventures - Eugene and Springfield [prev. Portal Escape Rooms]Escape roomIRLThis was the very best escape room I’ve ever done! It was absolutely incredible — the puzzles, the immersiveness, the production quality… just everything. The gamemaster was excellent as well. I hope to come back and try them all!
Startup Escape - CLOSEDStartup EscapeEscape roomIRLNote: This review is for an escape room I did years ago I really enjoyed this room. I loved that it was startup-themed, and even had a VR portion. The starting room looked like a Silicon Valley startup office. Looks like they went out of business - I hope they come back!
