The Last SupperQuest TavernEscape roomIRLEqual parts spooky and silly, with some great player interactions with the main character. Definitely benefits players who “commit to the bit” — play along, be silly, and “yes-and” everything! Some very satisfying mechanical puzzles and reveals, a detailed and spooky atmosphere, and a very fun pulse-pounding ending!
Atlantis: The Forgotten CityHypnotic Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLReally beautiful environments and intricate physical/mechanical puzzle designs. Really benefited from a big group, gave everyone something to do. Some of the puzzles became a little bit repetitive in terms of finding objects and then taking them to respective solve locations, but the overall vibe is so much fun that it didn’t bother me. Super immersive and well-made!
The Ghost Of MentryvilleArcane Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLDon’t be fooled by the small size and stature of this one-room experience — it has a surprisingly deep level of gameplay, and a compelling story that literally goes from micro to macro, guided by a live character who acts as spooky exposition and subtle, living hint system. There’s no timer here, so slow down, immerse yourself in the creepy lore, listen to everything that Sam has to say (and I do mean *everything*), play along with the mildly horrific story (but don’t worry, no jump scares), and let the solutions to the just-right puzzle challenges pull you into the experience. Don’t rush. It’s great.
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLA really fun solve for two people, loved the suburban 1980s vibe, loved the gradual reveal of the big idea behind the finale, which was super satisfying. Very challenging, not punishing. Some clever use of a few puzzle mechanics that I’ve never seen before. The environment were all top-notch, and the staff was great.
