Midnight ExpressEscape World - UtrechtEscape roomIRLTravelled to the Netherlands and absolutely adored this room. It was the perfect balance for us, we adored the set and hoe the story unfolded. There was one puzzle which was popped open which limited our progress at one phase but that was rectified. Our games master Lieselof was exceptional. She was so helpful and very committed to her job. She gave great recommendations and took full care of us whilst we were there. If you can have her as your GM!
The DomeMama BazookaEscape roomIRLWe flew out to play this game after hearing so many reviews. The actual concept of the game and the way they have created it is exceptional. The construction of the game is faultless, we are still in awe at how some of the puzzles worked. We were slightly taken out of the atmosphere due to the spooky nature of the room and experiencing moments of darkness and uncertainty. This is why if you are like us to play in a group of a minimum of 4. I would say however that you must experience this room, there really is not an experience like it elsewhere.
Joey’s Christmas Wish - CLOSEDEO Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAnother amazing game from EO escape rooms. Their Joey Christmas theme always brings us back. There are some really interesting puzzles which we have never seen before. We love EO as they are constantly trying to create new experiences for their guests. I would highly recommend everyone to play this Christmas room. It’s fun for all ages!
The Karma ClubEO Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn absolutely amazing room. I can not recommend this enough! I really loved the way that the whole room tied together. It was a high paced and challenging room but that lead to the sheer enjoyment and joy throughout the room. Kelly as a games master was incredible and so accommodating too. If you are looking for a room to make memories and have fun this is the room for you!!
Joey's Christmas Cracker - CLOSEDEO Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn amazing room which gets you into the Christmas spirit. The game was constantly showing you different types of puzzles and testing different parts of your brain. The game host and company as always were exquisite. Throughly recommend playing this game 🎄
Titkos Metró [Secret Subway]E-Exit Escape Room BudapestEscape roomIRLI liked the story of this experience, it is something I have never done before. The story was well thought out with twists and turns throughout. Some puzzle witnessed here which I have not came across before and were very enjoyable. We are English and had no problem understanding the game as the GM spoke in English and all of the puzzles were easy to understand. The overall achievement at the end of the game was worth all of the hard work. The way to exit the room was also equally as fun!
Scarlet - CLOSEDEO Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn absolutely amazing game, really interactive and enjoyable. Games master (Kelly) was incredible at her job and showed a clear passion for escape rooms. The set and every single puzzle was thought out meticulously . Highly suggest everyone to go play this game for an hour of fun and adventures!
RiddledThe Panic Room 3 - St Georges CentreEscape roomIRLThis room was very different to any sort of room which I have experienced before. I must admit I was apprehensive to begin with however once I got into it the room was very enjoyable and a good laugh. I liked the way how all the puzzles flow together but with a funny twist. There was a variety of puzzles and had electronic elements which were worked very well and a traditional padlocks were seen throughout the room. This was probably one of the most fun I’ve had in a room.
Wizard Of OzThe Panic Room 2 - The GroveEscape roomIRLEverything about this room was amazing. There was a clear attention to detail and a want to make the story accurate and create the best possible room. You follow the traditional story line throughout and there were subtle nudges to the story which helped you solve puzzles. The set design was some of the most attentive I’ve ever seen. The puzzles were fun but still had different elements to them. I would say out of 5 games which I played during my day this was my most favourite. I highly suggest everyone to go and play this room.
Whodunit: Hotel Homicide - CLOSEDThe Panic Room Don't Panic - Gift ShopEscape roomIRLThis was a fun escape room with a slightly difference experience. We have played a room like this before and enjoyed the format of the room. One of the puzzles were broken which ended up with us in a conundrum trying to get hints for a puzzle which we already opened with the incorrect code! The set design was good and really set up all of the atmosphere for what we were to be doing. The puzzles were fun and enjoyable and were all story driven with a suspect you needed to interrogate at the end. Our games host was not the most enthusiastic and I wish they had been for a more enjoyable experience.
Chaos at Calamity MineCluetopia - Clacton [prev. Tricky Escape]Escape roomIRLA very fun room. I’ve never payed a mine room before and I enjoyed this very much. The story line was quite straight forwards as you had to escape the mine and there wasn’t a development from there but there were enough puzzles to keep us having lots of fun. You need good communication with your other team members in order to escape this room and all puzzles are easily understood, no red herrings. The hint system is always very helpful at this company and the game masters always take the absolute best care of you which I love
The Grand Portobello Hotel HeistCluetopia - Walton [prev. Tricky Escape]Escape roomIRLI completed this room as a group of two and with it being their hardest room I was worried that we would not escape. This was not the case!! The room was design perfectly and led us onto the next puzzle easily. Even if you had a puzzle which you could not solve instantly when you found the clue, you knew what to refer back to. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING. In this room has a purpose for being there which I loved and there were no red herrings. Our games master (Lily) was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the room which was refreshing to see and we managed to talk for a while about escape rooms afterwards. There is a glimpse of a live actor however that is only momentarily at the start and is not scary in any way at all. Parking was efficient as it is listed on their website. I would suggest people to do this room if you are in the area and even if you aren’t… travel to it!!
Le Secret du Canal Lachine [The Secret of the Lachine Canal] [Outdoor]A/Maze AtwaterEscape roomIRLWe did this while we were killing some time in Montreal before our flight. I must say if you want to explore the city in a different way or are visiting this is a fantastic option to pick. You got to really work your way round the canal area of the city and truly explore Montreal’s history. We did not have a booking and just turned up and the GM was very accommodating to us and was very in character. We loved the information which they provided us. We must admit that some of the tasks make you look like you are lost but that added to the element of stories when we found the answer for us. I recommend this activity to anyone in Monteral for a fun day out. Took us 2 hours and we stopped for about 15 minutes for a coffee in between. Due to walking around there is a somewhat physical activity however there are always moments which you could should you wish to.
Projet R.E.S.E.T. [Project R.E.S.E.T.]Immersia Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis was the second game which we played at this location and we throughly enjoyed it! It was such a fun room. The set design was very modern and the games were all very clever. I don’t want to say too much as I wish to not spoil it, however this game has a lot of thought put into it and I recommend it for everyone. I am not the biggest fans of rooms based around technology or electronics however this was excited so well that I felt like I was truly part of the experience! You must try this room for a different experience
Le Grand Immersia Hotel [The Grand Immersia Hotel]Immersia Escape GamesEscape roomIRLPlaying this as a group of two was challenging but for all the good reasons. I have to say this is one of my favourite rooms which I have completed to date. The set design is good but the puzzling and the ideas I really enjoyed. There’s a mixture of puzzles which are helpful as you don’t get stuck on padlocks and the same things. There is an element of a live actor at the start and during the room but nothing for people to be scared about or worried. Our GM was extremely helpful in reassuring us of this. The thing which I enjoyed most about the room is that they took the idea and developed it further with actors and props to make you feel fully immersed!
The Ice CaveDaydream Adventures - DanforthEscape roomIRLWe played this room second after the Forrest and this certainly had a fantastic set design. The props and electronics were certainly amazing to look at. The final puzzle was defiantly worth the wait. I was stuck on using one of the electronic puzzles and wish that the puzzle contained slightly more information on how to use it, however afterwards the games master was happy to discuss it with me. We played it as a group of two and due to the open space I believe that it is more aimed at groups of 4 because there are activities which all could do. Overall a really fun room to participate in and was happy to say we escaped!
Deep TroubleMaldon Escape Rooms / Know EscapeEscape roomIRLWe were due to do this room as a 4 however circumstances meant we were participating as a three. This slightly eliminated the element of racing against each other, however we were still racing against the time. The company were fantastic when I contacted them about changing from 4-3 players. There was an open air vent which turned throughout the room so at times it was hard to hear the comments from PP. We enjoyed this and often knew how to solve the room, it has fun twists through the room. You could be an adult and still enjoy the child like tasks which are in the game at points. As always their puzzles are puzzles which you know instantly how they link to things. I believe we only got stuck once in the room due to us not fully exploring the room. But other than that the flow was very good. Games master was helpful when we needed it and we always enjoy companies which have a clue system instead of just giving us a clue.
Dream PortalDaydream Adventures - DanforthEscape roomIRLWe played this game as a group of 2. It was doable as a group of two and there was never a moment where we felt like we needed more hands. The room had a nice flow to it and the set design was wonderful. It had a lot of detail to it and time has clearly gone into the room. There was a slight technical difficulty with one of the puzzles and the games master was efficient in sorting this. I played both of their rooms and I preferred this room, the story was very clear and all tasks leading to our escape was evident.
The Cutting RoomLocked In EdinburghEscape roomIRLWe did this room as a group of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have played locked in games before but in Glasgow not on Edinburgh. We got slightly lost for the location but once we walked through the centre we were greeted with our games host. All of the game hosts at this venue seemed really engaging and passionate about their job, which made all the difference. Although this game did not have live actors you are still facing a fear factor in the room. The room was spacious and we never felt cramped and we were able to split off and solve different tasks in the room. I believe there was every possible lock I have ever encountered at this room. It has an electronic element but was not a heavy room on technology. The story line flowed well and we constantly knew what our aims were to get out of the room. I recommend everyone to do this room, it was an energetic fast paced room with lots of fun throughout! I can’t wait to go back and do another room at this company.
