Grinchmas Carnival
Legacy Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
Very disappointing. This was an overlay of an existing carnival room and it looks like they just slapped random grinch decoration on the walls. Literally no story. Just. Grinch decoration. And the background music was literally just the grinch movie playing in the background. Not the original. The newer cartoon version. Puzzles were barely on theme and a lot of them weren’t very intuitive. We needed a hint and the gm just gave us the answer instead of helping us figure it out. Also. There are open ceilings in all of their rooms and you can hear the other rooms yelling.

set design was great, narrative was fun, it really made you feel like you were in a classic slasher film. even though there were no live actors they do a good job making it feel like theres one.

Exit Game OC - Anaheim
Escape room

Very fun. For anyone curious. They have 2 Christmas games for the season. This one. Is their Christmas version of their original game. Similar gameplay but with a little Christmas flavor to it. Their other one. Naughty elf. Is a slightly modified version of the game but with a live actor as a twist. I’d definitely recommend the naught elf version. And for those who are curious. The live actor doesn’t scare you. It’s just a playful elf that likes to mess with you

Fun room and gameplay, clever puzzles, mostly gen 1 room, but has great gameplay and some unique elements. spooky theme, but not at all scary. all their games here are great

one of my favorite room for sure. very narrative driven. live actor in the room, less puzzles than the average room, because there is a heavy focus on the interaction with the actor. while this isnt a traditional "horror" themed room. its not as much scary, as it is high tension moments, which i feel is very similar. but a different enough distinction to be its own thing. not just "guy in mask chasing you and popping up randomly"

Set design was cute. Room wasn't too big. Some linear and non linear components. Puzzles were simple but fun. Alot of hands on Puzzles, good for kids.

Puzzles were simple, on theme. Nothing super creative there, but the effects were fun, with a high quality. Spooky theme, no real jump scares

This was my first outdoor experience like this. So I don't have much to compare to besides typical escape rooms. But I personally had mixed feelings about it. As an idea it was great, the intent behind what they were doing was fun and could work on a large scale, but there were a handful of logical issues that left alot to be desired. Some preventable, others unavoidable bad timings. But after talking with some of the morty staff, is sounded like this was a trial run of something more they wanted to do in the future. A beta test if you will. So I hope they can correct the issues of this first one, I'm really excited to see what next year will be
