Really one of the best I’ve done — immersive set, unexpected plot, fun ending, and totally possible for English speakers. I would recommend doing it as 2 people; you could totally enjoy it with 4 but you’ll be fine with 2.

Madame LeClaire and the Seance of DeathStudio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLWe did Shadow Zen and loved it so much that we booked this room for the next day. Another amazing room! It’s a very fun and aesthetically pleasing murder mystery—rich in story telling, with great effects. Not scary, just a fun and slightly spooky seance vibe requiring the player to figure out who the real killer is. You can absolutely do it in English. The owner is British and speaks both Japanese and English, so it can be done easily in either language.

For enthusiasts, there aren’t enough puzzles. 4 of us finished in 25 minutes (without trying to go fast) and were disappointed that there wasn’t more to do. Still loved it, just wish it was longer!

Scooby-Doo™ and the Spooky Castle AdventureEscapology - San DiegoEscape roomIRLIt’s fine. Probably really cute when new, but the props and decor were showing signs of wear. Easy if you are an enthusiast, took two of us about 35 minutes and we were taking our time because it was pretty straightforward. Many of the puzzles are hardly puzzles and more like instructions. Would be fun for kids I think!
SherlockEnigma Rooms - Roma IEscape roomIRLWe loved the Pequeña Gran Aventura room with Enigma Rooms, so we were excited to try another. This one was really bad. Would not recommend at all. The game flow was poor and many of the materials were junky. One puzzle said we needed to take a code and round it up, but it was already a round number. They gave us a clue and the actual number was not anything that made sense. We brute forced much of the room with ease just to get through it, because the puzzles didn’t make much sense. Finally at the end, the thing you must do to get out has a rule that is not stated anywhere at all, so we stumbled upon it accidentally and “won” very anticlimactically. I would recommend the other location (Roma 2) for sure, but skip this.
