HacksawRush Escape Game - HawthornEscape roomIRLA fun room with an interesting start! There were some issues with a look being attached to a carabiner (in the brief they mention carabiners are there for safety but to be treated like a chain) which ended up costing time as we tried to figure out what else needed to be done before radioing and being told it was an accident. There are multiple disconnected puzzles that come together in the end, that can sometimes mean you don’t know where you’re going with the clues you’ve found. Probably more fun for bigger groups!
Game Of The DragonRush Escape Game - South YarraEscape roomIRLThe room was themed beautifully, however the lack of linear puzzles left us trying to figure out what we were meant to do next often. A few puzzles are absolute time eaters, especially when you’re a smaller group (we were just 2). We lost quite a bit of time due to an item that was attached via carabiner- when we have done other rush escapes they have told us to treat it as a chain link and that undoing the carabiner would be considered cheating, after about 10 minutes we radioed to ask if we were allowed to detach it, and of course we were. No puzzles were particularly hard, they were just hard to find.

Monsters IncRush Escape Game - South YarraEscape roomIRLA really fun room! The design was super cool! The puzzles weren’t particularly challenging but they were fun, so it biggest time waster was just us not reading signs properly. Managed to set a monthly record, which made it all the more enjoyable !
The Mad ScientistAdventure Rooms - Melbourne (Little Collins St)Escape roomIRLPretty fun room, less puzzle solving, more finding. The puzzles weren’t difficult, but there were a lot of them, so probably easier for larger groups- as a duo we were moving through puzzles quickly, but the fact we couldn’t do more simultaneously ate into time. GMs were lovely, it’s a shame the clue giving is done without us requesting it, we always try to get things solved ourselves and only ask if we’re desperate so that was unfortunate.
Cave InTrapt Bar & Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLRoom was approachable for the most part, got stuck on one puzzle for about 10 minutes and completed the rest of the room in 15. Not a lot of flashy puzzles or mechanics, but did the job.
Red Creek AsylumExtreme EscapeEscape roomIRLThe room is unfortunate. Some puzzles are broken and need you to basically hold it together to work. We had to get clues for some solutions and don’t understand how you were meant to find them organically. Many of the elements were completely random. The room wasn’t scary, only a few puzzles seemed interesting or well thought out. Glad we got this room at a discount.
Four KingdomsStrike EastlandEscape roomIRLIt was alright for a strike room, the puzzles were decent fun. Unfortunately for us there was a puzzle that was very difficult to do (physically) with just two of us- delayed us for a while because we thought we were wrong about the task. The ending mechanics didn’t work so we had to call in after a while thinking we missed a puzzle, but no the final element was broken. Decent fun, some of the signs where misleading, and as we’ve found in other strike rooms, colour coding is heavily featured, unfortunate for those of us who are colour blind.
