Whiskey Runner - CLOSED828 Escape RoomEscape roomIRLCheck out 828 Escape Room in Sylva, North Carolina. My family and I did all three of their rooms (The Game Plan, Boone’s Revenge and Whiskey Runner) and had a blast! Yes we did escape all of them 🙂 Ian, our host, was very friendly and bubbly. Javier, our game master, was very attentive, engaging and funny. I like that he was personable when giving us clues/helpful hints and called us by our names as if he actually knew us lol Tiffany was also very friendly. I would definitely recommend that y’all check them out. They’re about an hour away from Asheville and about 20 minutes from Cherokee.

Star Trek Discovery: Damage Control [prev. Star Trek: Quantum Filament] - CLOSEDEscapology - ColumbiaEscape roomIRLThis room was okay. There were a lot of puzzles and it was a bit too much to me. However, it did fit the theme of a futuristic time but I got overwhelmed.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz EscapeMyrtle Beach Room EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is my first big disappointment escape room. They don’t offer private rooms; however, we went early in the day during the week so we didn’t have to worry about sharing a room. We can only have three clues. From my past experience I was thinking that after the third clue, we wouldn’t be able to get on a leaderboard or something of that nature. But no. if you need help after that third clue you’re just out of luck. (That’s my fault for assuming). We weren’t given a backstory to the room. It was more so of “you don’t have to force anything and if you break anything, you’re responsible for paying to repair/replace”. As he was on his way out of the room, I had to ask when does our time start because I didn’t see a monitor and he said once he leaves the room. But if I hadn’t asked, I would not have known.. Our game master was not the most attentive. When we did ask for one of our clues, he was asking whether we got to a certain point of the room yet but if he was paying attention he would’ve known. Because we were stuck (and out of clues) we spent the last maybe 10 - 15 minutes just kind of sitting around hoping for some type of epiphany lol When our time was up, we were contacted on our walkie-talkie to come out of the room. I tried to ask questions about the remaining puzzles but was told that they can’t give that information out. This was drastically different from the many other escape rooms that we’ve played before and I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be going back to that one.
Classified: Operation Nine LivesEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLThis is my least favorite room at EAG.
Paranormal InvestigatorLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLLoved the room. The owner is very personable and welcoming.
Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient ExpressEscapology - ColumbiaEscape roomIRLThe room setup was nice. It did have a nice flow. I’m not a big fan of logic puzzles which is what you will need to do to escape but one of my group members is really good at them so we had that covered 🙂. The props weren’t easily distinguishable (I can’t say more without spoiling it) which added to my frustration towards the end.
Floor 23Escape Plan ColumbiaEscape roomIRLThere was a lot of hype regarding this room. It didn’t meet my expectations. There was a lot of wasted time (I can’t say why without spoiling it). I was playing with thing that “solved the puzzle” while group members were reading and trying to figure out way out different we unwittingly got out lol I did think it was cute that we had to do a dance to get a clue 🙂
The Starlight MotelEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLLove this room! I was nervous about doing this room because I thought it was going to be extremely scary but it wasn’t like that. It was creepy, yes but not bad at all. This is my first (and only so far) room with a live actor and he was hilarious. We were so into it, that we didn’t realize the time. We escaped with, I believe, three or four minutes left but it seems like we were playing longer than that. It’s just that immersive. I 1000% recommend this room. It is my all time favorite. The staff at Escape Artist Greenville are awesome.
The Curse of Volcano IslandBreak Out Myrtle Beach Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAwesome room. Family friendly if you have little ones in your group.
Zombie OutbreakBreak Out Myrtle Beach Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed this room. I believe it was booked as Zombie Outbreak so I’m assuming this is the same room. The puzzles weren’t bad. My only complaint was the game master wasn’t paying attention initially because when we asked for a clue, he helped us out with something that we had already done. Now as we made it to another room, we had a little jump scare which I was kind of set up for by the game master. He started laughing when I screamed/cussed. But it was funny lol Overall, we did enjoy the room. I would recommend.
Dr. Fratelli's CabinEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLWe had a blast. Jack, our host and Game master was very personable and professional. He played his character well. I love that they hid a birthday note in the room for my daughter.
The Inventor's EnigmaEscape Artist Greenville - DowntownEscape roomIRLThis room has some interesting puzzles but I didn’t really care for the room that much.
ClueBreakout Games - KnoxvilleEscape roomIRLThis game was fun. I'm not big on who done it rooms but this was a very clever play on the game Clue. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed. That made it more worth it for me.
Bomb Squad [prev. Undercover Alley] - CLOSEDBreakout Games - KnoxvilleEscape roomIRLCool game. This is not game related but more so about the staff. We were traveling there from South Carolina and was pushing it as far as the time (we hit very heavy traffic at one point that slowed us down). So we called to let them know how far out we were according to the GPS and they were very nice and let us know that if we didn’t make it, they were able to move some things around so that we were able to play the games. However we did manage to make it there just in time but right before we got there they did call to check on us. I thought that was very nice of them and showed that they cared. That spoke volumes for me.
