Storyteller's SecretBoxarooEscape roomIRLA lovely, emotive, original room. The structure is slightly different from an escape room as you’re guided by the storyteller at turning points. But it has all the satisfaction of completing well themed and integrated puzzles in beautiful surrounds. Unusual and creative with a whimsical ending.
Save The CityCity Limits Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLHeckin good time fighting the bad guys to save city 13! This is a super creative way to strong together all of their rooms. I loved the set, our game master Jake was phenomenal, and the sound and lighting design were like being in a movie. And of course, great puzzles and fun challenges. Definitely recommend this experience for enthusiasts.
The Body ShopRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLDeliciously clever theme and twist on this one! Love the variety of puzzles, humor, immersive set and sound design.
Dr. Gem’s Time TrapMaine Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI loved the theme and creative room design. Very clever puzzles and lots of them! For two people we definitely had to keep the pace to get out before time was up. Everything worked seamlessly, followed logically, and yet was still challenging in a variety of ways. Plenty of delightful surprises in the design and execution. Everything was in line with the story and theme and we had a blast! It’s clear why this is such a well rated experience!
Game NightCU Adventures in Time and SpaceEscape roomIRLSomething about these rooms was just delightful. A serious attention to detail with deeply thematic gameplay made these games super immersive. I felt like puzzles were logical parts of the storyline and cleverly in world. Even the countdown clocks blended well into the worlds. Game Night was such a unique theme with a story that just kept progressing in the most charming fashion. I’m definitely a bit of a nerd and this spoke to my sense of childhood wonder. Highly recommend for its immersive and interactive game play.
Witch's HollowStained Hourglass Escapes LLC.Escape roomIRLOur second room at Stained Hourglass did not disappoint. This room is whimsical and lovely to play. Puzzles were a delight and the room had many interactions that were magical and playful. We joked with the GM these are great intros for new players, but set the bar awfully high for other games!
Moriarty's ManorMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLLoads of well designed unique puzzles in a nicely constructed immersive set. Some fun surprises and neat take on a typical theme. It’s nice to play such a thoughtfully created game, especially when it’s a well known story. There’s also a wide variety of puzzles that get everyone involved no matter their play style.
The RipperEnter The Enigma [prev. Aha! Escape Rooms]Escape roomIRLI loved this room. It’s beautiful. It’s immersive. It’s clever. There are surprising interactions and thoughtful story elements. But it’s dark. I’m 46 and it’s hard to see in the dark. Two of our four lanterns were dying. We nearly missed a puzzle just because we couldn’t see anything.
Heresy: 1897Doors of DivergenceEscape roomIRLNot your typical escape, but a wonderfully immersive and detailed experience. Beautiful sets and storyline with well themed puzzles and fantastic actors. The residents were a magnificent addition to the game. Sophisticated set up from start to end, with theatrical lights, sound, and performance. Well worth the price and we will absolutely return to complete another chapter.
Paradox Project 2: Το Βιβλιοπωλείον [The Bookstore]Paradox ProjectEscape roomIRLA wild ride. I chose Paradox as the one game we’d play in Athens. It definitely delivered. As some have mentioned it’s worn around the edges. Definitely an older game with more analog puzzles. I still marveled at the ingenuity and delighted in the immersive spaces. The quirky storyline unfolded logically, getting more and more absurd as you found yourself facing more and more challenges. It’s a bit camp, but that works for me. Personally I loved the ending. We (a jet lagged team of two) totally came to the wrong conclusion, but the game master graciously helped us find our way so we could experience the game in its entirety. As someone who has predominantly experienced the typical US escape room (briefing about rules in the lobby with a short story set up) I appreciated the immersion from start to finish.
