Although there are many pirate themed rooms I felt this one was better than any others I have done. The decor and immersive experience really set it above the rest. You will not be disappointed with any Ravenchase room.
Sprinkleton’s Revenge - CLOSEDHidden Gems Escape RoomEscape roomIRLLoved this room! The theme is super cute and the decor really adds to the Christmas spirit. I thought all the clues and puzzles flowed really well! Would be great for a family with children to do together.
Krampus's Furnace - CLOSEDEscape Room RVAEscape roomIRLI have done many Ravenchase rooms and have come to expect great things from them. This room was disappointing. It did not seem completely thought out. The clues were hard to follow and the storyline didn’t really make sense. There wasn’t anything particularly interesting about this room and we left feeling disappointed. Not the reputation that Ravenchase has built.
Cryptid GroveEscape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this room. The theme was unique and the puzzles flowed very well. Our group only needed one nudge and we were able to escape with lots of time left. I would say this room is on the easy to medium side. Throughly enjoyed it!
8-Bit EscapeEscape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLI really loved this room. The design and story were so unique. There were a few puzzles I felt didn’t flow but overall the game flow was nice. We were led astray by our GM for 5 minutes before they realized they had given us the wrong hint for where we were in the game. That was frustrating but overall I really enjoyed how unique this room was.
Elixir IncHidden Gems Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis is the second room we have done at Hidden Gems and we very much enjoyed it. There are some different elements that I have not seen before and everything was really on theme. We did get caught up by a couple of items in the room that actually weren’t clues but overall the game flowed well. We will be back to complete the third room.
Sleepy HollowHidden Gems Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe really enjoyed this room. The theme is different and there were some puzzles and locks that we hadn’t experienced before. We made a few silly mistakes and got tripped up by one puzzle but I still really enjoyed the room. We will be back to try the other room.
Mutiny on the LarkOB-Xscape RoomsEscape roomIRLOverall this was not our favorite game at this location. I don’t think starting out shackled together really added anything. Additionally, the shackles are real iron and very heavy. They actually were painful to wear. I’m not sure why they needed to be real iron. The props and effects were pretty impressive but the sound effects were so loud we could never hear the game master and wasted a lot of time asking her to repeat herself. We didn’t feel that the game really flowed very well, often unsure of which puzzle to work on when. The ending was my least favorite part. Overall the room was immersive and some of the puzzles were fun but it’s not a room I would recommend to others.
Witchcraft AlleyTrapped Puzzle Rooms - North LoopEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this room. It does follow the story line of a certain boy wizard but I thought the props and puzzles were unique. The game masters were very welcoming. We did have an issue with one of the puzzles not setting but it was fine. Overall I really enjoyed this room. I would recommend 5-6 players.
Cyber Punk’dColonial Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI enjoyed the 90s theme and props. The room is very small so I wouldn’t recommend more than 3 people. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of puzzles to work on in the room! The GM was attentive to us during the game and gave appropriate hints. Overall I enjoyed this room.
Wizard's CastleGnome & RavenEscape roomIRLAnother spectacular room by Gnome and Raven! The rooms itself are so wonderfully decorated that I just want to spend time looking at all the details. We did the intermediate room and finished pretty fast. Our game master brought in another puzzle to complete since we had finished with 20 minutes still left. We always have a great time at this venue and are very excited for their new room this summer!

I thought the room was nicely done and kept us engaged. I understand why they recommend having a minimum for four people.

Your group will need to divide and conquer this room. It is not linear and there is a lot to see and do. Pay attention to the opening video. It will give you important information to follow.
The Wizards PubRoom Escape WilliamsburgEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed this magical room. The room is not linear and throws a lot at you at once. There are a lot of magnets used and because of this feature we used some of the wrong items in places and were able to advance the game. Harry Potter fans will enjoy the references in the game. Overall we enjoyed the room and liked the unique aspects.
ConfinementRed Door Escape Room - RichmondEscape roomIRLNot my favorite Red Door room. I am not a fan of scary stuff and that took away from my excitement for the room. There were definitely some challenging puzzles and not all were logical.
Fair GameRed Door Escape Room - RichmondEscape roomIRLI enjoyed this room. Playing the fair games was different then any room I’ve been in. There were a couple of puzzle that didn’t seem to make a ton of sense but other than that the room was logical.
Prison BreakRed Door Escape Room - RichmondEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed this room. The room is pretty linear and we were able to follow it easily. We finished in 28 minutes and made it to 4th on the leaderboard. You do have to use objects multiple times, which I liked. Overall an enjoyable room.
